Default PAU Edge III

Gentleman I have a 30% PAU Edge III that has the 3 holes underneath the firewall for a canister.
My question is since I'm not running a canister muffler are my suppose to cover these three holes so that air doesn't get forced into the fuselage?

You do not have to. Many of us do so that dirt/oil/grease/smoke don't enter the fuse and make the wood inside all oily.
