Default POWER BOX OR NOT ?

Guys, i am currently setting up a 2.3 metre Extra which may be powered by either a MT-62 or a DA - 80. what i need to know is do you really have to use a Power Box Unit or can i just go the normal set up with the use of the new JR 9 channel 2.4 gig receiver that has dual battery inputs as a safety set up ? the power box is around $500 au and i feel its abit over priced , so by using top dual battery packs etc for the receiver plus top quality battery for ignition along with a couple of other units , why the power box ?

For that size model I wouldnt bother with a power box or similar.

I use power distribution in my 150cc model, however it really is overkill in 100cc and smaller models.

Benny.

No Need for it. Don't waste your money, on that. The Rx would be sufficient for a 50cc aircraft.

You do not need a power box. I've never run one, and never will. Waste of weight and money to me. I have two 35% airplanes set up this way, and one 40% set up this way, with no issues. I run the Spektrum version of the 9 channel receiver you mentioned (AR9100).
