Is this a split system? (An outside unit & an inside A/C / furnace/ blower unit) Is the furnace electric or natural gas? What brand? The status light....... is there a blink code?

sounds like the inside blower motor is done, the outside condenser and compressor are running but no fan to move the air in the house, could be just a relay or a motor, look in the phone book for free est repairs

well if your compressor turns on you know that your t-stat is ok. it could be the blower motor,or the starting circuit for it. turn on the fan switch on you t-stat and see if it turns on. now depending on how new your funace is there will be safty switchs on the front panel doors so you will need to hold them closed or tape them. it's kinda hard to diag a furnace with out proper equipt. what brand is it and how new is it?

the brand is a coleman evcon slpit heater/ac in house then fan unit outside
it is natural gas i think it may be the fan i dont know what voltage i should be getting for the fan is it a 120 v or 12 v on the circit board the fan lead was burnt alitte but there is power there. the connetor was loose so i tighting it back i dissconneted the fan and put my mutimeter on it on acv 500 i was getting 13 dont know if this is normal or not so i have some power to the fan. so would the fan stop the furnace from working (like a safty ???)

Hi, You should be getting 120v to the blower. If you are, and it's not spinning,it's ether the motor or capacitor. With the power turned off try spinning the blower wheel. If it spins free, good chance it's a bad capacitor. If it's tight, bad motor. Etherway, You should call a reputable company, and have someone that knows what there doing look @ it. If you take it all apart you'll end up paying more.

usually you will have several power wires going to the motor and that determines what speed it is going to operate at. there should be a wiring schematic that will tell you what wires do what. even if the blower spins free it still can be a bad motor. electric side. i think i would still call a hvac guy and have them check it out. it usually is $85-$100 to diag it. and if it is the motor most people can change one out themselves. the motor should have 120v going to it.

flynbye,
The furnace wont run until it knows the blower fan is running. The motor probably has a centrifugal switch in it that has to shut when the motor comes up to proper RPM, thus sending power on to the heating circuit. If your furnace wouldn't work and now you AC isn't working sound like something in the fan motor circuit, like has been said before it could be the motor or the capacitor or it could be in a circuit board(a relay on the board might not be shutting) Jamesrxx951 said to cut the T'stat to "fan" and see what happens, if nothing happens then you know where the problem is. Your outdoor unit sounds like it is fine since you can hear refrigerant going thru the lines. I think you have done about all that you can do, I would have somebody called out, you have narrowed it down for them already, when it gets fixed and while you have a technician out there have them fire up the heat too and make sure it works also(no reason in having to call somebody again next winter) Wes |

ok on the circit board there is 4 speed wires they go right into the wall that board is mounted on inside. then there are two wires that come off the board to the fan it self i am thinking of a old brushed power systems. those four wires must go some where but i dont really feel like taking all that apart i think i will just call some one
if you guys want i can post some pic up to help out

i think you will be money well spent on have someone come out and test the system and let you know what is wrong. if it is the motor and decide to replace it yourself take a picture of the wires and location. usually the fan assembly will slide out after removing a couple of screws. if you are confident in those kind of repairs save some $ and do it yourself or just have someone do it for you.
