Greetings to all Albuquerque IMAC Challenge Pilots,
Jeramy here I am the CD for this event. Sorry for the last minute post on the contest but as you all know life gets pretty crazy. As of last week all permits and such are finally in place for this event. Any of you that have been here before will not be in for any surprises. First of all to get to our field the best directions are on the Albuquerque Radio Control Club web site at www.ARCConline.com under flying fields George Maloof. The address of the field is approximately 8100 81st. St. NW Albuquerque NM 87120 for you GPS users. We have a city permit and AMA sanction for the field the 19th, 20th, and 21st. the 19th is for contest practice only ie. Registered pilots. If you arrive at the field in the late evening the sun will be in your face when you fly; most guys move to the East West runway to fly (If you do this please watch your footprint as houses are just 1/3 of a mile due east of the field) We did get a complaint last year about flying over houses. Please be aware that our field elevation is about 5,600ft. MSL with temps in the 80’s and 90’s. That means you will be flying in density alt. of about 9,000ft. Please get in a practice flight on Friday to make sure you are set up for the altitude. The contest will begin at 0800hrs sharp on Saturday morning with pilot meeting at 0730hrs. We normally get two rounds in by about noon or so before our afternoon thunderstorms roll in around 1400hrs. Lunch will be provided on Saturday. Saturday evening around 1600hrs we have a get together with BBQ and drinks at a home with a Pool. It provides a good place to whine about the unknowns and hang out. We provide some beer, spirits, cokes, and waters as well. You might want to keep an extra chair in your vehicle just in case, has not been a problem yet but hey you never know. Sunday will start at 0800hrs again. Unknowns and then knowns. We shut down early to get you guys on the road to home and safe before dark most times the field is empty by 1400hrs. I would like to fly freestyle on Saturday afternoon around lunchtime or so. We have tried to have it on Sunday and it just doesn’t work. Freestyle will be flown for cash I am putting up the money $75 for first, $50 for Second, $25 for Third. Let me know if you are flying freestyle as soon as you can and we will try to get a sound system out there. Prizes will be light this year. Ralph from Hobby-Proz here in Albuquerque was working on getting some goodies, Bob Ritchie from Smart-Fly is again sending goodies Other than that most that committed from last year are out of business or hurting this year. I will be working for the next week to try to get some more stuff for prizes. The contest Fee’s are the same as every year. $40 for Non-IMAC and thanks to the last minute issuance from IMAC, IMAC guys its $30 but you have to bring your number for me. Freestyle is not extra. If you need anything or have questions email me or go to FlyingGiants under IMAC and I will open a thread there. Take care and see you in 9days. Jeramy |

Jeramy,
We're looking forward to it! We should be rolling in around 5PM Thursday night and will be out at the field on Friday for practice. By the way, if any of you are on the fence about coming this is by far the best contest I've gone to and look forward to it every season, Jeramy does a great job running the contest and is fair to ALL contestants involved. Plus the Saturday night BBQ is always a good time ![]() See you all next week!

Once again, another outstanding competition at Albuquerque! The weather wasn't real cooperative on Saturday but two rounds were completed along with a freestyle. The unknown and one round of knowns on Sunday completed the competition on a beautiful Sunday by 2pm. Jeramy and the Albuquerque crew did a fantastic job setting up this event with another great BBQ on Saturday evening.
Thanks again guys for a wonderful event.

Here's a few pictures from Saturday when the rains came in. It got pretty cold and everyone was piling planes and bodies under the ramada to keep dry. It weather was windy and after the rain went through the day cleared up enough to get a freestyle between rounds. I didn't get any pictures or video of the freestyle. Others who were there did and I hope they post them.

Sunday was beautiful. The contest and awards were wrapped up by 2pm, just before the winds kicked up.

Kevin,
3rd place in basic was that gentleman that had a deadstick/gear rip on practice day. I would bet his name started with an M. 3rd place in intermediate was Steve Clark I think Ralph lang got second in advanced followed very closely by Dan Underkolfer(sp?) Didn't Len get last place in Unlimited? You got the freestyle right, and Spencer rocked it!
