Hey Guys,
I'm going to attempt a build thread here for a few reasons. 1. Because I'm lazy and this thread will force me to build. 2. It may answer some of the questions anyone may have about this particular plane. 3. Why not? This plane was ordered direct from Tony's (Owner of Pilot RC for those that don't know) factory. They can be purchased elsewhere on the net at places like Troybuilt Models, and Chief Aircraft to name a couple. But if you want a custom scheme, or servo bays located in a different area etc. you have to order it from Tony. I designed my scheme with the help of SSCUSTOMS. You know him here as Scags. He also owns a Pilot RC 300, and has a build thread here. http://www.flyinggiants.com/forums/f...tra-300-a.html Here are a couple pics of the plane at the factory. |

Here is the setup:
DLE 111 W/ JXF 27-3D-B Prop 2 A123 2300 mah - rcvr 1 A123 ? - ignition ( not sure what size yet) Spectrum AR9100 w/3 satellite rcvrs 3 Matchboxes - wings and elevator 4 Hitec 5995's on ailerons 2 Hitec 5990's on elevators (The Hitecs were free. Might as well use them) 1 JR 8711 on rudder. I'm going to use all of the hardware that came with the plane with the exception of the arms on the Hitecs. They came with aluminum arms attached. 1.5" I forgot to mention that this plane is the Carbon Fiber version. |

The wings arrived first. The box was beaten and battered by DHL. Amazingly, the wings were unscathed. No damage whatsoever! Unfortunately, my luck, which is rare to begin with would not hold out.

Two days later the Fuse arrive. I was horrified when I saw the package!
![]() There were holes everywhere! I wanted to open the box before I signed, but the driver would not allow it. So I wrote "damaged" underneath my sig and opened the box. Everything looked fine until I removed the hatch. A few of the stringers and a former were broken. I could tell DHL had set something heavy on my box because the foam packing had smashed the cowl in. But when I poked the cowl it popped back into shape with no cracks. Good paint job.

I can't go into detail right now, but Tony stepped up to the plate and made everything good. It's nice to buy from a company that should you not be satisfied, or have a problem with their product, they handle it immediately. I would not hesitate to buy from Tony again. Oh, this is concerning the damage during shipping.

Now, time to start the build.
Like most, the first thing I wanted to do was get this plane on it's feet. Installing the main gear was a breeze. The cannister tunnel made it very easy to insert the bolts. The gear is very light, and looks nice. |
