Default CNC machined main gear wheels

I wanted to let you fellows know that we now have two main gear wheels that are machined from 6061 billet aluminum and weigh in at 4.5 ounces per wheel. They are 4 3/4" in diameter and use a semi soft (Dubro/Sullivan type) rubber tire. The tire is recessed almost 3/8" into the rim so it stands up much straighter and runs much truer than the run of the mill plastic hub sponge rubber tire combination. We have had some guys using these for several months and to my knowledge nobody has come close to rolling one of them off the rim. The tire is replaceable in case you are blessed with a hard surface runway. I say two because we have them available with gold anodizing for those who find bright aluminum kind of dull.

Igus lubricant impregnated bushings are pressed into the hubs and the spacing is designed to precisely fit onto our titanium axles. No slop or wobble and .010 end play built in with "C" clip retainers. The titanium axles also allow you to change the wheel spacing so you can line the wheel up inside the pant. The end of the titanium axles are drilled and tapped 6-32 so you can easily support the outside of the pant for better pant stability and life.

Please let me know what you think as well as your suggestions.

Nice, how did they fit with the metric axles on the 2.6m YAK? I may have to get a pair.. Any modification you did to fit them?

They sure look sweet but with those thin spokes I would be much happier with 7075.

Al after seeing these wheels in person I truly believe if you damage them in a landing there will be more problems than just the wheels bending or breaking. These things are actually much better looking in person I am gonna put them on my 40 lb Carden 40% with the new lay up Graphtech is sending me hopefully this week and cant wait to see it all together.......As jmoesdad said BLING BLING.... and they look tougher than any other wheels I have seen yet..... I really dont think you would be disappointed at all.

they fit fine using the oem bolt that held on the dubros. vern gave me the specs and the difference was less then i can fathom. i bought the treaded rubber wheels and they were less then $80. P.S. what have you decided on your rudder set up?

When my wheels wear out I may just have to get a pair.
