Default Hacker A60-18L shaft length too short for CF prop

I have a couple planes running on Hacker A60-18L motors. I want to change the prop to a CF (which I have ) but the prop root is much thicker than the APC props. So thick in fact that there is not enough of the motor shaft sticking out to put a nut on it to secure the prop. Wooden props just barely fit if you don't want to include a second nut to lock the first one down.

It seems like hacker would sell longer replacement shafts but I can't find any.

Anyone else run into this issue? Any ideas for a solution?

go to Neumotors.com and get a steel collet from them. It'll fit over the 8mm shaft. You might have to cut some of it down though.

Another thought, use a thin spacer and just bolt it down. Because you're dealing with electric, you do NOT need the 2nd nut to keep the prop secure.

Thanks for the response. I ordered a collet from Neumotors and will let you know how it worked when I get it.

There is only enough shaft left to turn a nut about a 3rd of a turn without any spacer so option 2 won't work.
