puting a skywriter smoke system on my bird w/ a saito 115 and was trying to get a general idea of the size tank i would need for 1 flight. any ideas on average consumption rate?

You usually use the same size tank as your fuel. If you can go one size larger. At worst go one size smaller. Smoke fluid goes quick, especially if you turn it on and leave it on. Figure 4-8mins depending on the size tank and how long you leave it on.

possibly, but I doubt it.
Good thing about the Sullivan pump is you that you should never run the pump at full speed. Mix it to your throttle and it will only need to go about 1/2 or less at full throttle to get the desired smoke. Still, a 4oz tank is really small.

we'll try it and see. the plane may carry the extra weight ok and i can go up on the tank size. im just concerned that it may not even like the 8 or so ozs this is gonna add. i have plenty of power (14lbs on the stand) but the wing loading may be a little too high for the 3d stuff. plane is 57" and should weight about 6-6 1/4 lbs w/o all the smoke stuff

try to put the smoke on the CG if you can. That way the plane won't need any special trimming with or without the tank full.
