Default JTec 2.7 Panzl and DA 85

I was looking at the info on the plane and wanted to know what you think of the Panzl on a DA 85. The foam wings ought to dampen some of the engine's pulses, and help with resonance. Would the 85 be a good choice for all out 3D? This will not be my IMAC plane. Thank you

I just saw a DA 85 run last weekend, it was on a cannister and quiet prop. It appeared to be powerful and smooth. I did not fly it (he was just taking the first few flights with it). Have not flown the Panzl so can't comment.

Regards,
Don

Hi,

The 85 should fly it fine. I don't think it will be quite as good or as strong as a good 100 but we did have an 85 in the 2.7 extra 300 and it flew it well. Tha advantage of the 85 is it is lighter which means you need to keep everything forward for balance.

We have had several customers that have had both single and twin 80's in the plane and were very happy. I think the biggest issue is that you may not have unlimited vertical but it still should be pretty good.

The Panzl with a DA100 comes in between 25 with stock mufflers and about 27 lbs with canisters. It has about 2000 sq in of wing. Alll that depends on how you stuff it. We keep it simple.
