Pensacola Florida Feilds?
Hey guys! I'm looking for a place to fly while I'm on vacation in Pensacola. I don't want to join any clubs that require dues so just looking for a place where I can show up and hang with some guys for a day of flying. I will be down July 7-14th. I have current AMA. Any places around there like that?

The Escambia County Model Park. The county requires you to have AMA, the club would have you believe that you need to be a member. There are people who are not members but have AMA that fly there all the time.

Haha I know what you mean. I'm gonna be flying a 70cc. So I don't know if they would be cool with that.

The old guys will be pissed because of your age. The mid 40 crowd (this includes myself) enjoys this and will be right with you. It's all good! You can fly as my guest if your uneasy about just setting up and flying.

It's a closed landfill. Trees about 1/2 mile away. People still hit then from long approaches. I fly in the afternoons after work and it is pretty well vacant.

And because it's a landfill there are 3 foot high methane gas vents out in the field. There about 200 feet off of the runway.

Shoot us a pm when you are in the area. If Jon isn't available, you will be my guest, or one of the other guys will be happy to open the gate up. No trees where you'll be flying, but watch out for the yellow PVC vent pipes sticking out of the ground. Really not a worry for you either, but worth mentioning. Also, there is a sick dip just before driving over the bridge to the field, you'll want to be going really slow... |

Ive been to the escambia field a few times, really nice place. Im at NAS for a while and dont have a plane but get out there to hang out on weekends. Give me a call if your going out during the week Justin, im always looking for a way to get out of here Jon 330-219-8602
