Default Waharoa IMAC Chillout - June 2009

Weather better than expected, -4 instead of -6.
Hot shower and then off to breakfast.

A later than normal start allowed the strip to Defrost.
View of pit lane with 19 pilots attending.

Tony 2Names (Moi) finally getting to grips with the MX2.

Dave's (Cookie) flying yellow Taxi.

Auntie's Waikato coloured Extra

The cold affecting one our more respected pilots.

Alpal's flying taxi, this one with the stealth coloured cockpit.
I don't think he'll be too impressed with the AGM ruling on cockpits.

Ted's ex South Island 3meter 260. (That's not Ted standing there)

Bogan's 260 resplendid in Sponsorship colours.
Tankie being a big sponsor of the trailer- (Don't think he's going to get it back)

Baldrick's Raven.
Baldrick went by many new names at this comp for supporting more hair than everyone else combined.
Moses, Jesus -get me a glass of water, and Billy tell us a joke.

Lunchtime BBQ with the shadows already reaching across the pitt area.

Br6wnie's Br6wnie
Bogan baked all Friday with the kids, much to the amusement of his wife.

Apparently Brownie was on his way down at lunctime.

So we scoffed the bloody lot!
Thanks Bogan for the recipe.

Beyond the BBQ area and back out into the Sun.
Chatski's 50cc Yak with no bullet holes in it.....must be his good one?

Jon HAMberger's HundyHundy
Flying really well in Sportsman, came 4th ahead of Gibbs.

JD or Danks's 2.3m Extra with 80cc under the hood.
Flies really good with that sort of power.

Ewing (Slim) had trouble with the motor all day,
which was a shame because it was going like the clappers on Friday.
(must have been that 6700rpm)

Graeme's Hanger9 260, flying really well
and flew into 6th in Sportsman.

Young Steve with his new Extra HundyHundy.
We haven't got him a nickname yet, and I'm worried about the left ear covered up.
Lucky he didn't try to pierce anything "Fashionable" . . . . eh!

Our Senior fliers.
Alpal flying with Auntie calling in Intermediate.
Billy Connelly and son Bogan judging the performance.

Our unwanted guest!
You gotta be crazy to jump from a perfectly good aeroplane,
You gotta be flamin' nuts to land through an IMAC competition.
Fantastic bum slide to finish it all off.

No it's not the end of the day,
this was just after lunch time.

Young Steve flying intermediate schedule. Young Steve's Dad calling.
Billy Connely and Bogan judging.

Alpal taxiing out.

Alpal's Yellow Taxi taking off as Steve lines up for a landing (below)

Dave's Yellow Taxi on landing

Taxiing back to pit area.

Anthony's other plane, flying in Intermediate.
He was also flying the Comp-Arf Paddy Wagstaff.

Bogan caught smacking his plane, which is illegal in NZ.
Although we do have a referendum coming up on this issue.

Ted having a quite moment sitting in the million dollar chair.

Ahhh, that's why.
Dissappointed I didn't manage to get photo of plane.
And ended wondering why I missed it. You must have been out actually flying at time of photos.

Thanks Alpal, and thanks for the Comp with great weather.
Hopefully this has rekindled a few more to turn up.
I obviously missed Mikey and the great looking Paddy Wagstaff.
Also missed a few others, like Munro from Taupo and Gibbs's new acquistion.

Will have the good video camera set up next time, but keep in mind it makes better movies with "Smoke on", so if you guys place your approval to bring back Freestyle at the end of an IMAC event, will be able to post some great footage.

Can't resist a last shot of Chatski's model. Good luck on the SA shooting trip!
