Default Dual Receiver Setup???

I have a few extra receivers gathering dust so I decided to put them to work...I just purchased my first "BIG" airframe (100cc...The biggest plane I had prior to this were 50cc to 60cc planes) and I would like to go to a dual receiver setup....Those of you experienced with this please chime in and tell me your setup!!!...Pictures would be greatly appreciated as well!!!....And PLEASE, NO COMMENTS ABOUT SWITCHING TO 2.4!!!...I have witnessed at least two dozen planes on 2.4 crash for unexplained reasons after having switched from 72mHz...All of these planes flew fine on 72mHz before the switch and several of the pilots were very experienced modelers, including jet modelers....

Anyway---Let's hear from you describing your dual receiver installation and look at those pics!!!

THANKS!!! Kevin

I already have two regulators and two receivers...And I can match servos with the Hitec unit or Matchboxes...All equipment that I already have...I'm looking to use the electronics on hand and not to buy an extra $800 receiver..Thanks anyway!!!

IMO two recievers in a 100cc plane isn't a great idea. The two rec.'s can interfere with each other if there isn't enough seperation. Also the power loads are not enough to worry about splitting up. I think you'll be happier with one quality reciever. Just plug in your reg.s to any open channel or even use y's to get the most power to the bus in your rec. Good luck with whatever you choose.

I have never experianced this... even when the two Rx's are only 2 inches apart.....

With a Crystal Rx.. this "Interference" can be beneficial in some instances....

two Rx's only gives you options in the event of a Rx failure.

I've never heard of this before either...Even if I went to a 150cc plane we are only talking that the fusalage of the 150cc plane only being a couple of inches wider than the 100cc plane....I honestly don't think that this is an issue, especially since I have seen dual RX setups in jets where the receivers were very close to each other as the nose of the jet can be as narrow as 5 inches (or less) apart...

Now, if the servo extensions from one receiver were routed close enough to the antenna of the other receiver I could see where you could get some interference from this scenario....But we all know that this is a big NO-NO and we don't do this, right????...

Anybody have any pics of their setup???

THANKS!! Kevin

Been running a dual rx setup in my 100cc planes for 7 years now and never a glitch. Just make sure you cross your elevator/ailerons on each rx so if one craps out you have a little better chance of getting down in one piece!

I've seen it happen with two 649 pcm JR RX's one time. I used to run dual RX's with out any problems.

649 JR recievers are pretty crappy, at least the ones that I've seen in the past being used....

I plan on using two JR 955 PCM 10 RX's....All servos will have their own assigned channels, one for rudder, one for throttle, two for elevators, four for ailerons, one for choke, and finally one for smoke...All ten channels will be used...No Matchboxes or any other servo matching devices will need to be used as the radio will be able to handle all of the mixing...At least that is my plan...Anyone think of any reasons why this won't work???....The choke and smoke will be on channels 9 and 10 as these two channels are only refreshed at 1/2 the rate of the other channels...(Channels 1-8 are PCM 1024 and channels 9 and 10 are PCM 512 on the JR 10X systems...) Only 5 servos will be used per RX so power requirements shouldn't be a problem...(Actually only four servos on one of the receivers as the smoke system has it's own power battery)...I plan on using Fromeco 2600 mAh Relion packs...One for each RX, one for the ignition system and one for smoke...Regulators I'm using can handle 10 amps continuously with 20 amp bursts...Switches are Fromeco Badger units with pin and flag on/off control...
