Monty,

A friend of mine bought me two of your foamies at AMA show in California(I no longer have them ). I think you have improved in quality and the hardware package seemed easily fit! Keep up the good work!

what is the recommended motor/prop and battery for the Axilon, i have a Hacker A20-20L with a 10x4.7 on a 3S 1300 30C and i have ripped the motor off of that plane 3 times. all times having the foam fail. once having the mototrmount fail.

well i had one motor mount fail. but they were good and replaced it for free. the other two the foam failed about 3in back form the motor mount. im just curious if anyone has had this happen. i have a friend with an axilion with the same setup and his is fine right now. i do fly hard 3D with it but nothing that someone wouldnt do with a foamy. i'll try to get some pictures of this last one.

Well dude , i don't know what to tell you , but after flying probably a 1000 flights or so on foamies that are built like the Charger RC , DW and Insane foamies......yours looks damaged from hitting the ground. And i 3D the living the living hell out of these things! Of course it's going to break when you slam it into the ground. I run the "Exact" same setup as you , except i'm using a CC 18 amp ESC with my hacker 20-20L. These foamies are not indestructable.

And also....i gotta say , that after owning a ton of different brand name foamies , and a few of my own hand crafted ones , these Charger RC Fusions are friggin' SWEET! Best dang foamie on the planet for $44.99 , and i've pretty much owned them all!

P.S.....just so you know.....they ALL use the same foam! There is not one foamie company which gets better foam than the next.

the first axilion i had lasted atleast 100 flights, then the glue that held the motor mount on failed. the next 2 lasted less than 20 flights combined. both times the foam failed and not the glue. the damage in the picture happened at about 600ft so i didnt hit the ground... im sure of that. unless i hit a plane or big bird that i couldnt see. if you look at the pictures the fuse isnt bent or crimped which would have happened if it hit the ground... and all four sections broke in roughly the same place... thats would be more consistant of hitting the ground staight nose own but the foam behind it is fine. so it the motor and prop.

I had a fusion and personally i didnt like it. it just didnt suite my flying style. that one i crashed when i lost orienation in a torque roll. it was a great 3D machine but lacked in the precision section, which the axilion excelled in both. after going through 3 axilions i think im gonna try the DW 38in Yak next. but havnt completely made up my mind yet. im still kinda skeptical about buyin the foam for another axilion.

i know they all use the same foam. there isnt that many places producing depron to be very competitive. its just 6mm depron, i've bought a case of it and made my own foamies that most had an unexpected meeting with the earth. but that foam never failed...

dont get me wrong i love charger... for the time that they were flying i LOVED THEM. when i took my fushion out to my home field, i flew it twice... the next week 4 other guys had bought one. the axilion is by far the BEST flying foamie i ever had... thats why i bought 3 and im thinking of getting another one. i love charger RC they get my stuff to me really quick and have great service. im just trying to figure out why this has been happening

looks like to me that you had a motor mounting problem if you lose two of the four mounts it will tear it to shreds also this is a foamie fly it in close tight area not at 600 ft you can not aee what is going on with it if you want something to fly like thay get a park zone t-28 or stick with balsa the dw and all the others are made of 6mm depron it all the same so look at your flying

What did you re-enforce it with ????????????

i had the motor mount fail in exactly the way you described on the first axilion i had. but after that i had seen a couple of people have the same problem i switched to a lite plywood motor mount which you can see in the photo of the motor. its lasted longr than the 2 planes its been on. i was only at 600ft twice... i was doing elevators from there. i dont normally fly that high... i did it the first time to just see how high i could go and still see it. i normally never go above 100ft and 300ft in any direction.

i know all the foam is the same... i already said that... i worked at a hobby store for a year and have been flying foamies for about 2 years including building a few of my own... i know its all the same.

i re-enforced it with more foam... i was having the foam fail right behind the motor mount... maybe 1/2 in behind. when i put the more foam on it then broke behind that extra foam.
