Received my 37.5% Pilot Yak, replacement for my 33% Pilot Yak that died on the second flight.
Quality very good and it is definitely bigger than my 3 m Comp arf Extra 260.
Couple of photo's, started with checking the box contents, wings are done servo's installed and setup done, the elevators are almost done, servo's installed but setup not done yet !

Cheers

Default It Showed Up

Ok here we go, man I love getting these big ol boxes, like a kid on Christmas Day.

Let the build begin!

I was shocked when I checked the DHL tracking on my Extra today and said that it was on the truck out for delivery. Tony had just shipped it out last Wednesday that’s only three days from China to Seattle Wow!

Well I received the fuse but no wings; they said they should be rolling in Monday. That’s fine I’m not ready for them yet anyway.

The plane was packed very well however the fuse did have two broken stringers on the bottom just in front of the rudder. No biggie considering it made it here from China in only three days that’s no so bad.

Frankie I used a Smart-Fly and if you drill a !/4" hole just feed the wire through the hole and the black plastic frame of the light presses into the hole. You have to remove the plug from the wire first but even I managed that. A drop of CA and it wont come loose.

Was there any damage to the box? I'm beginning to think it's a packaging thing. Tony, you may want to re-examine the way the planes are packaged. Perhaps change they way the fuse sits on the bottom. The stringers are getting damaged. Just a thought.
Showoff, thanks for the pics.

Yeas there was some damage to the bottom of the box right where the fuse was damaged. Inside the plane was just sitting on the foam. there should have been a sheet of light plywood inside of the cardboard box, I think this would have prevented the damage?

Exactly my point. The bottom of the box has no plywood. Be sure to use strong wood to repar the stringers. The wood on my plane warped after I put the covering on. I may just fly it as is. I'll redo it if it flys bad. Thanks again for choosing to build here. This ones gonna be cool.

Some round carbon fiber tubing would make good stringer stock. I got a couple of cracked ones in the front of my canister opening on my Yak.

The LED is mounted in a standard large rubber grommet I got at ACE hardware.
Thank you!

This worries me. I have a replacement fuse to be shipped soon. I wonder what condition it will be in?

On another note, my 300 is finished! I'll post some pics later this morning. I'll try to borrow my friends camera and video the maiden. I just have to tidy the inside up a bit. Good times!

Great quality planes.
Although none of the schemes I have seen was mind blowing... Maybe they should hire an italian graphic designer... or an FG scheme contest?

Cheers,
Ziv

You could say that about most of the ARF manufacturers out there. Just look at JTEC. Those are just brutally plain. This is one of the reasons why we order from Tony. Our Plane, Our way. I love my scheme, and I'm really the only one i have to please. Plus, there are no schemes that rock everyone. It's a matter of personal taste.
