Hi everyone,
I have recently bought my first foamie, a dualsky breeze pro. Though I’d better give foamies a crack, considering its winter and well the weather is terrible for standing around outside. I would like to find out a little about hinge tape. My local hobby shop is all out of hinge tape and before I order some in, I was wondering if there are any good alternatives. Say something that I could pick up at my local hardware shop. I’m not too sure what I should be looking for; straight tape or something with a bit or reinforcing in it. If anyone out there is using an attentive hinge tape, in which you have bought from a hardware shop or something. Please let me know what it is and what you think of it. ![]() Cheers and remember fly hard people |

I prefer the regular hinge tape but I have used scotch tape before, not the cheapo stuff but the good name brand stuff and its works pretty good.

its nothing more than 3m tape. Many hospitals have it as well. You can buy it in bulk online for cheaper than Dubro sells it.

rcfoam.com sells it also. I have used blenderm, and 3m packing tape cut down to 1" wide. all work equally well IMO

Low and slow- How I roll

Blenderm tape is the most common hinge tape, being light and pretty flexible. Sticks like glue to surfaces, and doesn't let go. 3M has 12 rolls of 1" for like $16 directly from them, same for 2" and 1/2".
IMO, get the Blenderm tape. It's just medical tape (specific medical tape) and works awesome on, well, anything really. Cuts, wounds, bandages, foamie hinges, ect. ect.

Cheers everyone for the suggestions, I bought some tape from a stationary shop. Its just a normal sticky tape but its nice and lite, flexible and very sticky. Though if i want to remove the tape, it comes off pretty easily and doesn't leave any residue on the foam. At the moment i am happy with it, though time will tell when i test fly it to see how it holds up.
