Default DA100 Idle problem - ideas?

Hi all,

My DA100 has started to act up at idle. When I chop the throttle, it will go to a low idle, then slowly speed up. It's gotten to be a real problem for IMAC. If I set the throttle trim for a slow idle, it'll deadstick at the top of a hammer. If I set the throttle trim up a few notches, it idles too fast to spin.

People say it must be too lean on the low end, but I've been richening it, and the low needle is out past where it should be. I checked the carb and reed block and they're tight. Any ideas?

Thanks

Mark

sounds like you are sucking air in from somewhere other than the carb body, like the case halves or even a bearing that may have blown a seal, or one of the carb mount screws is loose. Or it could be something as simple as a slit in your fuel line where you are sucking in air bubbles.

What are u using for the throttle linkage?I found using a stiff or solid linkage the throttle is more consistant. If you use the nyrods good luck they bend too easly. Also make sure that the ball link at the carb has a spacer in it to raise it off the arm other wise it sometimes binds on the screw that hold the throtle arm to the carb.I use homeaid carbon rod with ball links at both ends.If this is a new problem try changing the throtle servo.
Good luck Scotty

Could be an air leak also check the head bolts sometimes they loosen.

Could be the screen in the pump side of the carb is plugged with crud from filthy gasoline. Fuel should have at least 4 filters before giong into your tank. Never put an in line filter in the planes fuel supply, if it ain't in there, it can't fail.
