Default Saito 125/60-90size Extra 30s

Hi,

I am building a 60-90 size Phoenix models Extra 330 and was wondering if the new Saito 125 would have enough grunt for unlimited vertical and strong pullouts in this plane. The flying weight is between 3.6-3.8kgs.Also is it necesary to run nitro in Saito fourstrokes or will they run ok without it.

Cheers

Weedy

I would have to say the Saito 125 will be a sweet combo in that plane. You will need to run nitro in that motor to get the best out of it. I'm not sure how much they recommend, but I run 20/20 in all of my Saito's and YS's.

Sounds like a good combo, got pics and stats on the Extra 330?

I own one, using a saito 100 with 15x6 apc prop, 30% heli fuel, flying weight 6 pounds 4 oz dry,7 pounds wet , jr s 821's on ailerons, trothle and elevator, hitec 5645 rudder pull-pull setup wich comes standard on the second version of the plane, team orion flat 5 cell 1600 battery pack, spektrum AR7000 RX, DX7 TX, tru-turn ultimate sppinner 2 1/4WB.
Flyies great fells very light, tends to float, the 4 stroke setup with the saito shaves about 7 full oz of weight off in comparison with the revious setup that I usead with an O.S. 91fx and using a larger prop makes the plane come down slower when going down vertical wich is pretty important on precision flying, it hovers like crazy on 4-stroke more than enough power from the saito for any 3D maneuvers and very good vertical speed, the landing gear sucks , always is good to land this plane with good entry speed, the landing gear is very flexible and can be damage easily otherwise no other roblem has showed u on this one, cheap kit around 140 dollars the arf wich is inexpensive, some pics of mine:
