I destroyed my cannisters on my 100cc AW Yak but the plane is repairable. Was wondering what would be the best mufflers to add smoke fittings to. DA factory, TBM silent beauty, JTEC or Slimline with the smoke fittings installed. I want to have good smoke and dont know where to actually install the fittings. Any input would be helpful, thanks.

Go with the DA factory mufflers, as i believe that DA says they add the most power! BTW, i am not trying to bash at TBM for this but i've seen a few guys on here post about their "silent Beauty" mufflers cracking. So goodluck with your choice. BTW, if your wondering which ones i use then the choice is obvious- DA ALL THE WAY!

If going with DA what is the difference between the stock and the compact mufflers? I know it is the size but any difference in performance or smoke output?

Cost only, no performance difference

After speaking with Mr. Young at JTEC today I am going with their mufflers. I like it when a company is willing to sit and explain things to you and not be in a hurry to get off of the phone. A real nice fellow and also a North Carolinian so I will support the home team as much as possible. Thanks again for the time we talked today.

No the ZDZ has a different offset. basically the spacing between the front and aft cyclinder is greater so the mufflers would have to be adjusted if you want the outlet tubes in the same location.
