A little CA and some buffing compound and we should be good!

maybe it is a bit of payback for the "Flamingo Incident" at The Nall

Well another Nats in the books and what a year! By far the coldes worst weather year I can remember. Pretty windy also most of the time. I overheard a few pilots talking about getting some play sand from Walmart and throwing it in our faces so we could feel like we were at Tucson LOL.

I tried to post some updates with my PDA but it kept dumping my posts for some reason so sorry for lack of contest details.

Nats crew did a great job again, thanks so much to them for the hard work. Don, Phil, Ronda, Sharon, Allan... Lot's of effort put in for our flying pleasure. All the judges, scribes, helpers and AMA crew, just awesome.

Competition was very tough again this year as I would expect at the Nationals. Things over at the Unl and Int site went very smooth, not sure about the other site butheard it went well over there also. Bunch of flying again this year and I think the first time we did two sequence rounds.

Not sure why the weather was so poor, a deep low up north kept the winds blowing, clouds low, and temps down. Not that big of a deal if your dressed for it, which nobody was! Who brings coats, long pants, gloves and such to the Nationals in July!

I really only got to see my flight line but the Unl class was very talented leaving such little room for error it was crazy. Miss a snap just a little and it becomes a throw away round! I was struggling to find "much" wrong with some of the sequences and yet some of those solid rounds were in the 800-950 range by the time it was all done. It was great to see so much talent here in all classes.

I really enjoyed meeting up with old and making new friends again this year. Mike, Mark, and Matt were a real joy to spend time with. Thanks for the deep fried goodness! Yummy for sure with a side of dayum!

Seeing the California crew is always good. They sure know how to pull off a good time. It was impressive to see all those planes getting put back into the trailers this morning. Hopfully the gas can won't explode again! You guys were very lucky to say the least.

Great to see Curtis and Jen again, hopefully it won't be another 3 years before the cowl comes off to check the header bolts!

We missed a few of our regulars for sure, but there is another Nats coming up in about 360 days!

Oh yea, John and Tina Shroeder what a hoot! Awesome people to say the least. They give and give, never asking or expecting anything in return.
Thanks also to Kurt, I appreciate the help with some high quality bolts!

Wayne... both on 2.4... IIRC...

What a week...
I had my 15 minutes of fame on the first day...then thought I would let the kids take over! Just proud to have been flying on Thursday.
The Nats are about more than that though. Sure, the weather pretty much sucked.... the kind of days that you would look at the window and say, Hey...it's a great day to build...not fly...
but the Nats for me and my family are about the fellowship.
Seeing my second family (because that is what the people in IMAC are for me)
Meeting new people, visiting the different campsites... feeling bad for Will after he lost a fight with a fried potato chip from Team Cholesterol...
Being yelled at by Kurtis Waites to just PULL darnit! and then being compared to the famous duo of Stan Stockman and Wayne Matthews....
Then freaking out when Mike Chandley called for me and told me to do a 2 of 4...but wouldn't tell me which way!!!
Its the Laughs! The Fun, the friends......
I already miss everyone

Thanks to Mike, Kurtis, Matt, and Marion for calling for me! You guys make it fun! Kurtis... quick, say Immelman three times fast!

The Nats were a great time for me whole family... we really enjoy it (plus, my wife is sold on getting an RV)

Will... I promise to clean the airplane....next Nats...

Thanks again and see Ya'll soon!!

Curtis

Yup, the friends that you make are the best part (well, except for Cheese).

BTW, I guess the flying giant staff is unaware of the IMAC Nats. Its a shame. But if your looking for a OMP the full page write up on the home page is nice.

We have a great IMAC site with Forums..
I'd love to see more people use that place for contest threads and discussion.

We pay for it. Might as well use it.

When did IMAC start sponsoring the Flying Giants site? I don't remember seeing many IMAC pilots at the FG Huckfests.
