For immediate release:
** FUTABA TRADE-UP PROGRAM A unique way to upgrade! For a limited time, modelers who are ready to retire an old radio system or who may be fed up with secondary 2.4GHz technology, can move up from their current radio system to a high-quality Futaba FASST system! Modelers who purchase a Futaba FASST system between July 1st and October 31st, 2009 can trade in their old, tired, inferior – even broken – system and receive a merchandise certificate worth up to $250.00 toward more Futaba purchases. Certificate values vary depending on the FASST system that’s purchased and the trade-in system shipped. Futaba certificates are good only toward Futaba products. There is no limit on trade-ins provided a separate certificate request is filled out for each trade-in and an original FASST system receipt and proof-of-purchase is provided. Request forms, program rules and radio list may be found at www.futaba-rc.com and www.2.4gigahertz.com (See chart below!) All module-based transmitters must include the module. Trade-ins consisting of a transmitter plus compatible 2.4GHz module and receiver will be considered a 2.4GHz system, with the modeler receiving a merchandise certificate in the value indicated for a 2.4GHz trade-in. Trade-up requests must be received by November 30th, 2009 to qualify.

I misread it the first time. I thought it said they would allow $100 trade value for a 14mz. I think I'll go get another cup of coffee now.

Neat. That will probably motivate people that are on the fence.
Most radios can sell on ebay for more than what they are offering in a rebate, but I am sure we all have an old, old radio collecting dust in the bottom of a drawer that could be used. Props to Futaba for this one.

Are they saying that they will only give you $100 for a 72mhz 14mz?

I think what he is saying is, if your SO lazy that you would rather trade in a $2000 radio for a $100 discount, instead of pulling out the 72 mhz module and just buying a $300 2.4 upgrade, then yes... you would get $100 off a new radio.
But, you would have to be retarded to do that. ![]() Sorry but sometimes the truth hurts!

So to me, after reading the details. It looks like you pruchase a new 2.4 FASST system, then take your older 2.4 system (Tx and Rx only with out batteries) and ship them back. Then then send you a cerificate for $$ in merchandise. Is that correct?

Well, clear me up on this. It makes no difference to me because I am not participating, but the way it sounds to me, even after reading it: You have a 14mz on 72mhz. You buy a new 14mz on 2.4, you send in the 72mhz after purchasing the 2.4, and you get a $100 merchandise certificate? Sounds like only getting $100 for your 72mhz 14mz. Correct me if I am wrong and missing something, cause I really hope I am!

Hey Sleepy, I know you would have to be retarded to do that! haha. It just doesn't seem like a very good deal to me. Now if you had an old 72mhz transmitter that wasn't worth anything anyway and you couldn't get a module for it, I would understand the trade in. I see how the trade in works now, but it is only as good of a deal as what you are trading in. If you bought a 2.4 14mz, you could trade in any 2.4 radio for a $250 certificate, or any 72mhz radio for a $100 certificate. Seems like only a good deal if you are trading in a bottom of the line radio that might not be worth the value of the certificate.

It will fly!!!

That is exactally right. However if you buy the same 2.4 14mz you can send in an old 4 channel system on 72and get the same $100.

What 2.4 radio could you buy for $100 to get ahead of the game by $150? The only way you could be ahead of the game by $150 is if you somehow bought a 6ex 2.4 for $100, then bought a 14mz 2.4 and sent the 6ex 2.4 in for the trade in, receiving the $250 merchandise certificate, which would put you ahead by $150. But a new 6ex 2.4 is like $210, so you could maybe get $40 ahead.
