I'm using a new EMS HD switch with a 6V Hydrimax 2000 mAh Ni-MH battery assigned to the trainer switch on my radio.

I know what you mean, it is weird. Why does it go out, when a load is put on a servo? I don't know... I tried changing channels and switches on the radio with no luck. It was working fine when I first installed it...

The LED flickers with the servo buzz at neutral.

maybe someone else has some better knowledge than me on this one. maybe even calling 42% tomorrow. i think they are out there in california with you. i just dont understand the servo thing. did you try flipping the wire on the reciever or the led wire to see if it makes a difference. another thing i would try is setting up a different airplane program in the transmitter and bind the reciever to that program make sure all switches are turned off{i know you fly futaba so it might be different} and see what happens or even a different reciever. because the ignition is set on a on/off switch. usually a gear switch. are you on the gear switch? because i don't know if other switches can be turned on/off like a gear or not. never tried

i just noticed you said trainer switch. thats just a momentary switch isn't it? try the gear switch and see what happens it needs to be an on/off switch

i use all my kill switches on the trainer switch. or the button switch on my 9303 works perfect. and so does my 42% opto kill switch

Wow, I feel like an idiot. Turns out the connector was connected to the receiver incorrectly. Doh! Just had to flip it over!

Thanks again James! I appreciated everyone's input.

I'm waiting for some parts and materials to get here. I can't believe I haven't finished it yet. I guess good things come in time.

I installed an Optokill on my 30% Wild Hare Edge earlier this year. Simple to install, and has worked fine.....until recently. LED started flickering, and the DA-50 would chop in sync with the flicker. Check the connections, still the same problem. Bypassed the Optokill, and problem went away, so of course the Optokill was the next thing to leave the plane. Called 42% Products today, and they will replace the unit, so no problem there, but I am left with the "lack of confidence" feeling. Not sure whether to use it again, or not.

I had the same issue with mine.
If you are using Futaba and channel 6 for your opti-kill, let me know and I'll explain what my cause was. It was a radio programming issue.

Has anyone had any issues running this product while using a 12X system?

When I turn the switch on, the LED will light up for a second then go off. After that everything I have tried results in the LED not coming on at all and no voltage through the ignition connector. I have tried on several different switches on my radio, 42% tech recomended plugging the receiver wire into my throttle channel to give a on/off solution without any mixes, removed the switch from the equation, fresh battery, different ports on the reciever, switched the wires on the opto (thinking I may have reversed the wiring, which resulted in the product not even turning on, so I know I have it wired correctly). I have run out of ideas and I am open to any suggestions before I send it back to 42% to have them look at it. I am bummed because I was really hoping to maiden my plane this weekend...
