I am thinking about putting a gasser on a Telemaster. Does anybody make one in the 20 to 26cc range that has rail mounts.

That would be something I would consider but those engines have a nasty habit of having pieces of tin foil they consider to be plating pull off the cylinder walls.

Troy Built Models has a 17cc gasser they are selling for $145 I think. Not sure how this would stack up, but the price is right. Probably fly fairly scale.

Saito fg-20 is light and uses rail mount, I have one but not run it yet, looks like a really nice engine as all Saito's are.

Not even close....The real RCS 140 is/was a small rear carb powerhouse.....One problem it had was a thin aluminum carb mount that would bend and leak the pulse if tightened too far...A thicker plate and some attention to the pulse hole solved the problem...It would turn an 18-6 Mejzlik almost as well as a G26....The ignition had the same spark plug plug problem as the MVVS...Since the hall sensor was mounted in the back cover the timing could not be adjusted to use an RC EXL ignition and the better spark plug cap.....Easily fixed with a cap from the RC EXL......

The 140s I had -used a rinky dink press on cap-and the worst braided lead ass's Ihave ever sen- but - with that issue fixed and the engine carefully broken in (the piston fit was an issue) -they run well
on a small tuned pipe they really buzz! Except for the cost of alky - my alky /oil burning ST140 setups on spark still beat the small gassers by a huge margin. (six bucks for methonal!) |

Hey All,
Well, what I can tell ya, is that we are very happy with the new line from RCGF. We looked/tested them 2.5 years ago with hopes they may have the next masterpiece ? ? ? Well they did not. Then (about 2-3 months ago) we contacted their factory and asked them to send us their latest engines ! ! ! ! Wow, they came a long WAY !. Their QC improved as well as their products. We invested a bunch of money in their new line because, every plane we flew with their engines did well. High numbers in RPM as well as thrust. Check them out if you wish ! Thanks, |
