I called Kevin Kimball to help me with the balance point on my first 35% Pitts Model 12 about 7 or 8 years ago. We have been good friends ever since. He has always been a great help to me. To watch Kevin, his dad Jim, and his crew take a concept, like the Python, from a thought or sketch to a flying airplane in less time than we can build a model is amazing. Everyone at his shop are just, down to earth, great guys.
To help get Quique into a Pitts Model 12 (Python) and to get Kevin and Quique together was a dream. To watch Kevin talking about models to Quique and show us some design ideas he has was great. At one point Kevin took a pen and was designing on his hand cause he didn't have paper. Design ideas flow both ways. Kevin is also very interested how we design biplanes with very little roll coupling. Full scale guys don't have mixing and can't add more servos to power big control surfaces. kevin's ideas are going to help the modeling community, Quique's ideas will help the full scale guys. I give big props to both of these guys. I may beat you to the ride Biff. Im going over to Kevins next month for a visit. Im renting a plane and will be flying in at their grass strip. So maybe I can sneak in a ride. LOL... Guys a pleasure as always see all of you at Joe Nall. Take Care John www.aerotech-rcmodels.com |
