Default Fireball and the "night" Vizion

I always pass by this forum on my way to somewhere else here on FG but decided to stop by to look at all the great stuff you guys are making and show my scratch built foamie. it is all 3mm depron, carbon rod and 1 ply carbon sheet. the WS is 32" and it is a touch under 7oz ready to go w/ a 350mah pack.I could trim another oz out of it but for the way i fly i dont see a real reason. Flight times are 4.5min on 350 w/ the real lite feel and 13min w/ the 910ma pack and is equally as exciting (and more power from higher "c") with the increased wing load. I had a GP Yak and the design is very loosely based on that with a little inspiration from a p-51. it flys great and doesnt couple in KE, stable in harrier, and doesnt really care where the CG is. I usually run it about mid chord. I designed the plane with my cad then printed out scale sections on printer paper, taped everything together then used the patterns to cut the foam out w/ a xacto. the flames were done by using a CAD file I have of about a thousand different styles. once i got the design aranged on the plane, i once again used the printer to print on scotchbrite scuffed thin plastic sheeting which i made into male and female stensils for air brushing. wow!!! as i write this i realize that i have alot of time in it. luckily over the last 4 months its had atleast 100 midnight flights under the street light w/o incedent.out of my whole fleet of helis and planes it probably the most enjoyable to fly (and definetley the cheapest). thanks for reading
ps my 5yo son named it Fireball

Hi Bill,

I know this thread is a bit old, but I had to post! Congratulations, I love it! I love the fuse's shape and the painting is awsome!

Do you think it will make a good 3D flyer?? I was planing on making a slightly bigger version around 47" or 50".

Happy Landings,

Dani

Funny you should mention the Clik as I have recently done some of the prliminary CAD work as well as machining some prototypes for Jason aka 3Deranged. The plane is now called the Vizion. It was designed by Jason and 3d bad boy/ x intermediate pattern champ Blake Hilson. We all live within about 10 miles of each other. Blake is away doing the Army thing right now. Blake was instrumental in getting all the right things in the right places and I can say I have about 200 flights on mine and it is a "point and shoot" w/ no bad habits, period. And no mixing.First plane I have ever flown that you can put in about any attitude, let go of the sticks, and it will follow that line. This is my "daily driver". This is the 34 1/2" version. Obviously I used the stencils from Fireball on this one too
