Default Talking headers

I am just about to buy my first 50cc gas engine. I have a question about headers. I was thinking of running a flexible header to a canister.

How would you rate a flexi header in terms or quality and performance?

Has anyone encountered any problems with them? If so what was an effective solutions to your problem?

Would it be worth getting one?

The reason why I ask is that I was taking to someone and they suggested I buy a stainless steal header. As the flexi headers can burn out and they sometimes make tuning quite difficult. Cost wise I can get a decent can and flexi header a hell of a lot cheaper than the alternative. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Default Re: Talking headers

theres nothing wrong with the flex type header pipes, there light and alot lighter than a stainless header. alot of guys wrap the header with exhaust wrwp which helps to keep the temp down plus keeps the heat in the pipe for tuning.

I'm told that you loose a little power with the Flex Header system. Mind you they make fitting a Canister system so much simpler. I've not heard of them burning out.
I can help you out with supply of them. PM me if you would like more details.

Cheers
