I have just installed my 26cc gas engine into my plane and wondering if i could get
any ideas on what to make the throttle pushrod out of. As my first attempt semms to have to much movement and the engine idles up and down at low revs with the vibration |

Try using a carbon fiber rod.

Carbon fiber filled Nyrod works great. Just screw a 2-56 threaded rod with a 2-56 ball end on each end. Works great.

I use Carbon Fiber rods with ends epoxied on them, or CF tubes with threaded rods glued inside

Troy Built Models also sells a pair of 18" Carbon Fiber Rods with 4-40 ends for about 15 bucks.

Carbon fiber tubes with ends glued in...I use JB weld to secure the ends. For good geometry make the servo arm the same length as the throttle arm. Ball links make things smooth and won't vibrate or flex at all, a solid connection.
Shown here is a throttle and choke servo on a DA-150 two cylinder engine. Both are set up using the same techniques.
