Default Trailers??

Can anyone recommend a good place to get a trailer for transport of planes?
I live in Northern NSW, so NSW and SE Queensland are fine for me.

I have been up and down the yellow pages and searched Google and the closest I have come are so-called 3 bike trailers.
The problem with bile trailers seems to be that apart from being expensive, they are quite heavy and the suspension set up to transport 400-500Kg.
I think I need internal length of 3m or so and width / height of some 1.5 m??

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Today, I bit the bullet and ordered a trailer from Creative Trailers in Sydney.
It's a 2 Kart trailer with some mofifications to suit plane transport better.

Some good few $$$$$$$ will have to change hands but it had to happen!

Does anyone have first hand experience with trailers from Creative?

Don't have any experience with them. When I bit the bullet, I took a design into a local engineering place, and this is what they built me. It is a three bike trailer, without the lift up lid, and sheeted in fibreglass and insulated inside

Almost identical from the outside.

The sides in mine are lined with mesh and the floor is sheet metal. Side doors in the same spot and an internal light. I didn't get the insulation at this stage but I might do that myself at some stage.

If you are going to insulate it, it need to go under the mesh, so you would need to do it before they put the outsides on. It only cost me $105 from an insulation joint. Its the insulation that they put into the roofs of sheds

Are they the same place that have some of their trailers advertised on ebay?

Good luck appalsson with your trailer from creative. I ordered one from them in October last year and was told 4 to 5 weeks. When it came to february this year and STILL not even a start on the trailer i asked for my money back. Still going thru sherriffs to get my deposit back..

I'm about to build my own trailer using a composite fiberglass sandwich panneling very light and strong and no internal framing required ( keeping the wife and kids happy on cold days) 5.5m long 2.1m wide and 1.5 high wheel arches outside for a clear floor inside.

I'm doing the same as Scott. Second hand Freezer panels. I bought a single Axel Caravan chassis and will put a ply floor in it and then top it off with some freezer paneling. No frame required and it only requires some aluminium 75x75mm angle and some big headed rivets and she's away. light, strong, cheap (slightly under a grand) and looks good.

That's interesting and good timing for your post. Thanks for the alert.

We ran late sending the deposit yesterday so I might hang back and speak to them - even tell them that I will pay them in full upon delivery but no deposit. If they don't like that, there are other trailer builders.

No, they are located south of Melbourne as far as I know. Unless Creative use Ebay as well?

Haggy, did you sell your trailer, or is it still available?
