Default HS-7950TH VS HS7955

Hello guys,

Im selecting servos for 110 inch EF yak. Most likely i will go with Hitec servo, can someone compare Hitec 7950TH and Hitec 7955 , I know 7955 is awesome servo, i hear this from many pilots, but 7950 specs looks totally crazy, and with powerbox its not problem to give it constant 7 ore 8 volts. But again its quite new and i did not heard any actual flying reports, so any opinion and advices would be apreciated.

Kind wishes,
Donatas,

Donatas,

They have yet to hit the market, best delivery I have heard is in August in the US. If you can get one earlier where you are, buy one, I'd doubt you will be disappointed (actually several German sites are showing them as in stock).

I've had some 7950's backordered for several months.

Chris was running them in the new 123" Extra. They will be the servo of choice when they hit the market.

I have been using 7955's in my AW 100cc YAK for a few months now with unregulated 8.4v Fromco batteries without any problems. Should be way more than you will ever need.

You can use 7955's at 7.4 volts no problem. I have heard both good and bad about the 79xx servos, but have not used them. I have seen them jitter like no tomorrow on some planes.
Regardless, if you go with the 55's you know you will need two of them on the rudder, right? You may want to consider a 400+ oz servo there, like 8711, 9157, 94780 or similar.

I'm running 7955's in my 110 on unregged lipo's.

Two on the rudder is a must like Bodywerks says.

I'm running two 7955's on the rudder of My 110" EF Yak and they are doing great.

I have a EF 110" Yak, Aeroworks 100cc Extra 300, and a QQ Python. The Rudder on the EF Yak is much bigger.

I'm going to get the 89" 3DHS AJ Slick for my first GS and I'm liking the 7950TH for the higher torque and the holding power since they are digital. I plan on using 2s lipos with an AR9100 power safe RX but what should I use for a thottle servo???? I know the 7955TG can run on a 2s but what do you guys think?

As I said on another post, Ive been using these servos for the past weekend in a 35% TOC Yak. I put two of them for the rudder only and they are very powerful. I don't understand why more people haven't flown with this servo yet. I got 4 HiTec servos at Chief Aircraft in Florida sent to NJ in 3 days for $440. IMHO I do not recommed using LiIon batteries if you are running 2 or more of the 7950 servos. I am using A123 2300 MaH packs. The amp draw is well over 4 amps for each servo just holding pressure on the rudder with my finger. Rudder blowback during flight does not seem possible. So far these are the most powerful and precise servos I have ever used.
