Hi Alan,
What size Saito? If 1.25 then I think 16x6 would work fine! 3 1/4" spinner is fine!

Thanks very much Alan!
You need a two cell 2000-2600 li-ion. I don't think you would need any Lipo since you don't need a high discharge rate but you certainly can use lipo if you want! I mounted the tank on the tank tray just like I showed in the manual! It is not on CG but I hardly saw any CG shift. Mainly in landings when the tank is almost all empty, it would behave a tad tail heavy nothing to worry about! For throttle, use an analog servo, and standard size! I am always leary on the small digital servo. 4 stroke enignes do vibrate and I am afraid your mini digi servo can be at risk of failing! I did not use a pump nor an onboard glow since those would add more weight and I built it very light! With YS 1.10 it was 8 1/2 lbs. Rocket power, very light wing loading! I still have the plane and is my favourite! Have fun, Reza

I mounted the engine sideways! I didn't notice any problems but I am sure if you get really precise then you see a little difference. It is true that weight on one side is more but the distance or your moment arm is small so it translate to a little difference.

Sure! Although I am not sure if you can get many flights with that battery before needing to charge!
I would consider a 2000 mah just to be on the safe side! Or just use 2500-2700 5 cell NIMH an no regulator or one A123 1100 and no regulator!

on a similar set up that i had i used a 2300 mah nimh pack. then i swiched to a 1100 mah a123 and got more flight time. also the 5645's i have heard that they are pretty slow for freestyle 3d. like rolling manuverse. i have put perry pumps on all my saitos and have had definate increases in power. i have gone through alot of headache to figure that out but they make a huge difference.

Proper thrust is stablished in the firewall already. Why change it? Assemble per instructions.

fly it first and make sure that the thrust is already ok. if there is need to change thrust then do so.

alan,
Quique's planes have 0 up/down thrust! I totally agree with octane! All of QQ yak have about 2.5 right thrust built-in the firewall! You need to keep in mind, who was behind the design of these planes and trust the manual. There is always room for improvement but certain things are not considered improving can make a very good flying plane not fly as good at all! Cheers, Reza
