Default Rest in peace Alfred Pye

For those that knew Alfred Pye, he recently passed away. I’m not absolutely sure of how it happened at present. Honestly I don’t want to think of how it happened.

Alfred competed in many F3A national and world championships. I remember him building some of the best looking and flying F3A aircraft I have ever seen. I’m sure that those people with one of Alfred’s planes would not disagree.

I didn’t know Alfred particularly well, but as a fellow Coonabarabran boy I always looked up to him. He is my flying icon and whenever I had the opportunity to watch him fly I marvelled in his skills. I had the pleasure of doing a one week work placement when I was in year 10 in Alfred’s hobby shop up in QLD. That was one of the best weeks I had ever had.

My deepest condolences go out to Alfred’s family and I’m terribly sorry for your loss. Alfred may be gone but I’ll never forget him he will always be my flying icon.

Terrible news. I met Alf for the first time at the F3A Masters this year in Shepparton. A truly nice guy and admirable flying skills.

Sincere condolences to his family . . such a tragedy.

I got to know Alfred when he was a young up and coming Pattern flyer. He was a very well liked young man at the time and i have only great memories of some great comps that he competed in.RIP
