I was speaking with Kevin Dietrich the other day and he mentioned that besides selling his popular line of ARF aircraft he is now carrying a full line of Mintor motors. Dietrich Aircraft is now the exclusive Distributor for Mintor motors in the US. If you have not seen a Mintor motor before they are simply amazing works of art. Each motor is a beautifully milled, polished, power house that run like a sewing machine.
Kevin said that the Mintor line of motors includes 37cc, 55cc, 75cc, 110CC, and a 220cc bad boy. Check out www.dietrichaircraft.com for availability of each motor. Kevin also sent a brief history of Mintor motors, which I found to be very interesting so I thought I'd share it: MINTOR SRL, was created from a group of highly skilled professional engine mechanics. For many decades Mintor engineers has worked in many industrial sectors. Our great passion for engines and model aircraft construction has driven us to dedicate our activity to design state of the art model aircraft engines. It has always been Mintors firm belief that anyone who dedicates his time and resources for model aircraft should be able to purchase high quality reliable products. Following this inspiration our products are designed and manufactured with the main purpose of quality and reliability in mind. We are the only firm all over the world to design, produce and assemble all the mechanical components of the engine in our premises in Italy. We are considered the Ferrari of model airplane engines. Each engine is hand built and assembled to exact tolerance each and every time. We do not use assemble lines. This assures the modeler the best in quality from every engine. Our research allows us to build engines for maximum structural stiffness and weight reduction. We use only the best alloys and none of the parts or components are made from fusion type products. This technique is surely more expensive than any other manufacturing procedure. We use the most sophisticated CNC machines in the industry. This allows us to manufacture all components and maintain the highest levels of quality each and every time. Anyone who chooses a Mintor engine owns a product made with attention to detail and meticulousness that cannot be found any where else. Above all you will always have competent, supportive, motivated people to serve your needs. Below are the specs for the 37cc and 110cc motors. Again, Check the Dietrich website for more info shortly! 37CC LENGTH 119MM CRANK CENTERLINE TO PLUG 118MM WEIGHT 2.4 POUNDS IGNITION WEIGHT 100 GR MUFFLER 2.8 OUNCES PROPS 22 X 8, 22 X10 110CC LENGTH 148MM DISTANCE BETWEEN PLUGS 275MM WEIGHT 6.7 POUNDS ready to fly with plugs, mufflers and prop bolts IGNITION WEIGHT 100 GR MUFFLER 3.2 OUNCES PROPS 28 X 10, 29 X 12, 30 X 10 For more information about Dietrich Aircraft's ARF's or Mintor motors please visit www.dietrichaircraft.com

It's a special technique of destroying expensive airplanes. 2. 3D flying is an evil addiction. It's a sickness that makes you spend all of your money on airplanes. There is no real cure for it, you just have to keep buying airplanes. The good news is that it is almost never fatal, except for marriages maybe. |

My 110 runs awesome...Just had it out on Sunday again. It's an absolute monster of an engine..Mejzlik 28/10 6740 rpm...loud loud loud prop noise...Have also flown it with a 28/12 Mej. and a 26/10 Biela..It handles the 28/12 great, seems to have good torque..The Biela is almost as good as the 28/12..No noise with the Biela..

I wonder if the 55CC installation would be significantly different with the carb placed opposite the cylinder rather then off the backplate as is common with other 50'ish cc motors???

The 55cc looks amazing. If I got one there would be no need for a cowl.
