Default PB Royal FASST rx's??

G'day, I am in the process of setting up my newest model.

I am using a PB royal, futaba 6008HS receivers and futaba 9157 servos.
When in 'normal' mode everything works just fine, however if I switch the rx's over to HS mode the servos will not move properly. They just shudder and twitch whenever I try and move the stick.

Has anyone else experienced this problem?? To me it appears the PB royal is not compatible with the HS mode receivers, is there a firmware update for the royal that I dont know about?

Cheers

Benny.

Hi Benny

I doubt there is any chance the Royal will cope with the high frame rate of the HS mode. The Royal was designed before the HS mode was released.

Hi Benny

Does the same happen to the servo's if you bypass the P/B ??
I received my receivers yesterday, same as yours Futaba 6008HS X 2 and as you know I plan on running 2 receivers hopefully in HS mode throug the Emcotec P/B. If you solve the problem please lett me know ! I have not checked mine to see if it does the same !

Cheers
BB

I asked Gerhard at AI a while back if they are compatable and he said yes... but have never tried it myself.

Yep certainly looks that way, oh well its not a huge issue for me, I am sure I am not good enough to feel the difference between HS and normal mode.

Just glad I figured out why my servo's were jittering like crazy.

BB that would make sense considering the emcotec does not adjust the signal. The PB allows endpoint and center adjustments as well as servo reversing and this is probably why it is not compatible with the HS mode.

Hi Benny

Powerbox confirmed that the channels with matching will not work at the high frame rate.

Thankyou for investigating that Howie

I am just glad there is nothing wrong with my PB, at first I thought it had had a meltdown!
