Is AR500 compatible with Spektrum module installed on JR PCM9X or JR 9303 transmitter
I have bought one of these Rx but opening the package before I find out the compatiblity.

Is it safe to install in a .46 size glow model

Regards

I've got 2 AR500's using them with the Spektrum module in a Futaba 9C. They are in my .40 to .60 size glow planes.
No problems at all.

I have one in my Reactor bibe and one in my 42" AJ Slick, no problems as of yet. Have two more for other projects. For me I will only use them in small planes, I feel better with dual recievers in anything over these sized planes, I know it is rated at full range and have even heard of people using AR6000 in small glow planes but, too much risk for me.JMO

I have 2 of them, one in a Great Planes Extra 300 SP, OS46AX, 55", and the other is in a Great Planes Super Sportster, OS46LA, 55", I'm completely satisfied with both receivers. I use the AR6200 receiver in my quarter scale plane.

I have one that came in my H9 Alpha 40 RTF. No problems at all.
I do need to send it in for the software upgrade (quick reconnect on power loss). The one I have takes a few seconds to reconnect...

What updates are avail for it? Don't see any bulletins on spektrum or horizon sites. Let us know if you know something and we don't.

the AR500 has it. If the last channels it was using aren't open then it will take time to scan for new channels. Just because you have the quick reconnect software does not mean it will connect quick all the time.

This is what I am referring to....

"My final update on AR500 brownout reconnect time. I sent the two AR500s
with 4 second reconnect times back to Horizon and they updated the firmware. Now all five of my AR500s work as advertised (reconnect time <1second). There are no stickers on my updated AR500s so I guess there is no way of indentifying AR500s with the latest firmware."

My AR500 takes about 4 seconds to reconnect and give me control....

I have one AR500 that I got back at the start of the flying season. It was V1.6 to begin with.
How Spektrum managed to release the early AR500's without quick reconnect is beyond me, since it was released long after the original problem was known, glad I waited for the Spring to get one.
Range is great in my 2M sailplane, no problem when specked out
Pete

Bob, does your light blink when you power off and power back on? If not, then I am totally wrong; sorry. Like PilotPete, I don't understand how all the AR500s don't have the new firmware (they were manufactured after the software was updated).

the only receiver that I have seen with an external version number is the AR6100.
