Dietrich 50cc Edge 540

The new Dietrich 50cc Edge 540 looks like a sweet plane in the pictures, probably the best looking Edge I've seen yet, but I have yet to see any videos of the prototype or discussion of it here on FG. Anybody know anything about this bird besides what is on the Dietrich website? I, personally, would like to see it in action!

Same here.
Three companies announced there releasing 50cc Edge's this past spring.
Dietrich,Extreme Flight and Aeroworks.
Aeroworks is the only one out of the three with anything in detail on there website and have a definite date as to when there going to be available.(3 weeks)
Dietrich and Extreme Flight when is your release?
This year or next year?

According to the Chief Aircraft website the Dietrich Edge is due out in September. Just to throw another wrench in the works, I'd also like to see and hear more about the 50cc Slick Dietrich has on the flyer they recently posted on their website.

If you want us to get excited about new planes coming out, tease us with pictures and videos!

OK Chad to me I would think the time a company would want a new release would be in the spring right before the summer flying takes off.When would you sell more planes early summer or at the end of summer?
From a marketing stand point I don't understand where their logic is.

I would guess it's because most of us buy new planes right before the building season starts. I know I normally don't buy new planes in the spring / summer since I already have my planes ready from the winter months.

It's probably a real byatch getting a plane through the prototype stage to having 200 of them in a warehouse ready to sell in the US. I haven't worked with Dietrich, but I know that both Extreme Flight and Aeroworks are companies that aren't going to rush a plane onto the market until they feel that they are perfect. That means that after waiting for a new sample with some changes done for a couple of months (keeping their fingers crossed that this one will be the one) - if they fly it and it's still not quite right they'll put the project back a couple more months in order to make some changes, get a new sample, fly it, and then finally order a production run if that one is right. I'd much rather wait for companies like that to get their planes ready then to buy from a company that will just order up 200 of the 2nd sample even if it's not perfect just to get it out faster.

Besides, not knowing exactly when they'll be released keeps me from flying my existing 50cc planes too low!

So, anyone from Dietrich on FG? I'm surprised there has not been a reply of some kind from someone who has seen, flown, or knows something about this plane. Honestly, I'm a little disappointed. I want to see some videos! Someone please try and sell me on this plane or I'll have to move on to something more tangible! Dont' they know we have short attention spans these days!

Sweet! About time. I'm saving my pennies....... and quarters............. and $20 bills considering how much they get for a 50cc airframe now. Some more info on this bird may sway my decision, once I can afford to make it.

So, this thread seems to be pretty much dead, but I'm still curious about this plane, and the Yak 55 Dietrich will be selling. Has anyone seen the Edge yet? Any videos yet? Any word from Dietrich other than some PDF files with pictures and specs? Someone had posted here that they were going to be putting some videos on their web site but I can't find them. I don't want to be the test subject for such a mystery plane. Anyone...........?
