Hi Guys,

We need to know what the majority of the pilots in the Southwest region would like to do.
The contest will be held in Apache Junction AZ at the (Superstition Air Park) East Valley Aviators Field.

This will be a 3 day event, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, with Freestyle. The IMAC will be officially over on Saturday, and the top pilots from each class will get to duke it out on Sunday with one unknown and 3 knowns.

I was asked to put up the following choices:
Thanksgiving weekend Nov. 27, 28, 29
The weekend after Thanksgiving Dec. 4, 5, 6

Please vote only if you intend to participate in this event.

I vote for a 2 day event

2 days. Sat. and Sun. after Thanksgiving; no elimination rounds and one round of freestyle each day of the contest (2 total). The 4th is a problem....as I imagine it would be for a lot of folks who work.

Definitely the weekend after thanksgiving weekend! I plan to attend. I already get fri, sat, sun off anyway, but I can see where Kevin is coming from about it being a 3-day event and having to take extra days off. if it can be made into a two day event I think more people will show up.

Change of heart - I'm unlikely to attend.
Contest is too late in the year and I'll be burned out from a hard month of practice before the shootout.
Also out of vacation time.

Most of us have work and the kids have school the first week of December and after a week out for the Shootout it would be impossible to miss more of both. We will attend if it is the weekend after Thanksgiving there is no way on the other weekend.

IMHO the contest is too late and too long -

IMAC season ends with the new sequences out in October.
November/December is "pointless" because Tucson is already done.
Three days is a great idea for locals but those who have to travel will be on the road 4 or 5 days right at the holiday season.
Thanksgiving - again great for locals as a fun fly but not so good for out of towner's.

No vote for those not willing to bust out 4/5 days travel cash?

2 days, weekend after Thanksgiving. I would rather travel on friday and spend Thanksgiving with the family.

Those of us with family members who get together for Thanksgiving and have to travel will not be able to participate.
I vote for the weekend after Thanksgiving and a 2 day event.
