Default 2009 Cincinnati IMAC Challenge

Hello everyone!

Just a reminder that the Cincinnati "Burn it" IMAC Challenge is rapidly approaching!! We are looking forward to a great weekend of flying on August 15 and 16 at the Cincinnati Aeromodeler's home field.

Directions to the Cincinnati Aeromodelers flying filed at 8470 Lawrenceburg Road, West Harrison Ohio 45030

From the North or East:
Take I-74 West past the Miamitown (Hamilton Cleves Exit) and take I-275 West/South towards Kentucky. Follow to the first exit, Kilby Road. Exit the highway and turn right onto Kilby road, stay in the right lane. Follow to the first road past the highway, Suspension Bridge road and turn Right. Follow till dead end (about a mile) and turn Right onto Lawrenceburg Road. Follow to field on the right approx 4 miles down. There will be Model airplane show signs at the entrance. Note, the field is back a long gravel driveway and NOT easily visible from the street. Campers swing wide before entering from this direction.

From the South:
Take I-275 North or West headed to Ohio. Take the first Ohio Exit which is Kilby road. All other directions are exactly the same as above.

From the West:
Take I-74 East to the last Indiana Exit which is the Brookville or SR 52 Exit by the big Shelton Fireworks stand. Exit and turn Left onto 52. Follow straight through the back side of Harrison till you cross over onto State street, keep going straight, NO TURNS till you cross rail road tracks and a river. Immediately on the other side of the bridge you will find Lawrenceburg Road on the Left. Take the Left onto Lawrenceburg Road and follow approximately 1 mile to the field on the left.

Hotels are at I-74 and New Haven Road. If coming from the North or East, just don’t exit onto I-275 and you will find New Haven 2 more exits down. From the South, follow I-275 to I-74 West and follow 2 more exits. From the West, Follow I-74 past the Brookville exit, and New Haven is the next exit (first in Ohio).

From the Hotels to the flying field:
Turn Left Onto New Haven Road and follow to Harrison Avenue (SR 52) and turn Right (at the Shell Gas station) Follow to the 3rd light which will be State and 52 and turn left. Note, West Side Liquors is on the opposite corner.
Follow till you cross rail road tracks and a river and turn left onto Lawrenceburg road. Follow approx 1 mile to field on the Left.

There is abundant space for camping at the field. We have a hangar to store your aircraft overnight and electric to charge batteries if needed.

We would appreciate pre-registration via the IMAC website as that really facilitates getting rolling on Saturday morning. Pilot's meeting will be at 8:45 am and we will be wheels up at 9:15 am. No gas engines can be started and run until after 9:00 am at our field so we will try and provide some time for people to fly before the contest starts.

We have a great facility so come on out and join us!

Marian

I'm not chicken, I should make this one. Unless I actually start work on Monday then I won't be able to get there and back to Houston in time for work. Man what a catch 22: "Work and eat" or "not work and attempt the burn it challenge"...
