Well the weather Gods frowned upon us today. Monsoon rain from 10:00 am till 8pm.
Did the rain get anyone down though? Heck no.. we still had a ball. Talking, story telling and sharing snacks were the way everyone enjoyed themselves. Today I heard more bench flying and Elie stories in ten hours under the tents that I have heard in 5 years. The true spirit of the hobby was alive and well in Gardner today! Someone who responded to the rain in a different way was the man Snap-a-Saurus. After seeing "Buff Elie" in person, "Real Elie" had a pose-down with "Buff Elie", no matter how many people cheered for "Buff Elie", "Real Elie" claimed he won the pose off. (He didn't) Big shout out to Dave Mathewson the President of the AMA and Andy Argenio our Favorite AMA District 1 VP for spending the day with us. Dave shared a bunch of laughs and said that even without the flying, he thought we were a fun bunch. Thanks Dave... we will see you next year at the Mega Huckfest at the AMA FIELD! Around 6pm, we left the field and headed out to the "Old Mill" restaurant where I'm sure we will never be welcomed again. (I apologize to all the local diners, We do our best to only let Elie out once a year. Unfortunately for all of you, this was that day) Tomorrow the forecast looks perfect. 80 deg, 5 mp winds. We will be flying by 8am. See everyone tomorrow! Another big shout out to All and Kevin from JTEC. They were having a ball with all of us. We are really happy they made the trip out. Once again, THANKS to JTEC for being the TITLE SPONSOR of the 2009 HUCKFEST SERIES. Make sure you check out www.jtecrc.com for the selection of great airplanes they offer!

Yes, i knew someone would be flying in the rain. Flying in the rain is SUPER-BAD-ASS!!!!!!!. Man its 114 deg here in So Utah. I wish it would rain here and coll down instead of trying to melt my planes. I would go flying in the rain too. It almost never rains here. Dam desert. At least i have a 70 deg airconditioned garage!
Thanks for the pics Sleepy. |

Elie, the last time I saw legs like that they had a message tied to them. LOL I hope you apprised the AMA President of the situation with the FOGs at the other field.
