Guys, would you know where i can buy a length of 32mm O.D. carbon fibre tube ? this is to suit a 2.3 mtr / wingspan . 1 meter length is heaps but must be 32 mm outside diameter with a decent wall thickness , as used on most 50cc plus gassers. thanks.

You could try Desert Aircraft Australia 07 3422 0772, they stock some from PBG (Frazer and Mike Briggs) or you could try PBG direct in NZ.

TNT and TBM have tubes in metric and imperial and I'm sure they can measure up before sending to you. I can tell you that its almost a certainty the tube will not fit precisely since every one has a slight deviation in diameter. Ask me how I know. If the tube is just shy of being the right size you can do either of the following:
Wrap the tube with brown packing tape which is a common method but I don't like this way its too much of an ugly hack or what I have always done to good effect is to coat CA glue over the inside of the wing tube socket using a scrap length of wood. This increases the inside diameter very slightly and lasts forever. If you go nuts and make it too small then one or two strokes with 120 grade sand paper gets it back to size again. |

you can spray several coats of clear to thicken the wing tube up or use strapping or packaging tape.

I picked up two 32mm tubes from Graphtec about a year ago, they had to order em and it took a couple weeks, Also they may have got more than the two I ordered, you may want to check with them.

guys i should have mentioned i live in Australia, and would prefere to obtain this tube abit more local, reason being the extra international postage cost on a not so cheap item.
