Default 2009 Snap A Huckfest Wrap up.

Well guys, the 2009 Snap A Huckfest is in the books.
And man, what a weekend it was.

I'd like to send a huge special shout out to everyone's favorite character Elie "Snap A Saurus" Houayes.
Not only does he work hard to be the fun exciting character you all know and love he also worked REALLY hard to put this event on.

Elie has been working for months to find a suitable location for this event, and with the help of Andy Argenio they found the Gardner airport. But make no mistake, the process of finding a place was not an easy one. Snap called many times telling me that he and Andy were driving for HOURS and HOURS on a Saturday checking out potential locations, and that no matter what they would find a suitable location. And sure enough they did. It was a great location. Hats off guys you did good.

Elie also found and secured the Big tent, the sound system, the lights, the Girls, pretty much everything. So I personally would like to thank my good friend, my brother, my BFF if you will... Elie Houayes. You sir are the MAN!

The weekend of the event, many other guys came together to help Elie out. Andy Argenio and many of the other AMA representatives of District 1 helped with registration, spectator wrangling and pretty much anything else that was needed. Even Dave Mathewson the president of the AMA made it out on Friday to assist and hang out with everyone. This show of support for the Flyinggiants members and for 3D flying by the AMA means a lot to each and every one of us. It also shows that even the officers of the AMA are REAL MODELERS and truly love being a part of this hobby!

Also on the huge THANK YOU list, Bryan Zang. Bryan flew out and proceeded to "work" all weekend! Tikka, this Viking flew in from Norway, NORWAY and helped all weekend long. Even FG favorite Shortbus drove five hours to the show and ended up helping with registration, food and anything we asked. Craig "CBK07" helped out all weekend and kept Zang company in the food tent for several hours. Thank you so much guys.

Another shout out goes to the staff of the Gardner Airport. They had a system and it really works. Line Boss Mike was the man working the radio keeping the full scale traffic coming and going during the entire show. Everyone else from the airport was more than accommodating and I'd just like to say it was a pleasure working with all of you. Hopefully we will get the chance to do it all again.

Demo pilots! Big shout out to Cody Wojcik (SP?), John Glezellis, Justin Chi and Dino Spadaccini, You guys rocked, and reminded me I really do suck.

I'm sure I missed a ton of people, and if your one of them, please know your help was not taken lightly, I just have a horrible memory when it comes to names. So to all of you I say THANK YOU SO MUCH! The weekend would not have been what it was without any of you.

To everyone who came out to the show this past weekend all the FG members, all the pilots and all of the spectators, I thank each and everyone of you as well. Each one of you brought a positive attitude, amazing skills and tons of wicked airplanes. All of YOU are what makes a Huckfest a Huckfest. Also, thank you for maintaining a high level of respect for the airport grounds and rules. You guys made us proud.

Another big Thank You goes to Al and Kevin from JTEC RC, without their sponsorship of the Huckfest series, I would not be able to travel to each one and cover each event. So THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!
Make sure you check out www.jtecrc.com . Personally I love my JTEC 3.2M Extra. And apparently many of you do as well, seeing that there were a ton of JTEC planes at the Snap a huckfest this weekend!

Ok.. I had a great time, and I can not wait for the next one... Sept 10 - 13 Napoleon Ohio...
See you guys there!

PS: To the lovely Snap-a-Princesses, I am sorry I am married. I know that was very hard for you all to take, but I'm sure you will be able to move on.

Sleepy:

I didn't get say goodbye to you sunday. But we had a great time, and this is the best event I have ever been to. And you are such a great guy, and I hope I can call you my friend. In fact, I hope I can call all you guys my friends now. It is nice to finally put a face to all the nick names here at the FG.

I'll come back next year, you just let me know the dates, and I'll order the tickets. I'll bring with me some Black/Death Metal dudes, they can play some nice music for us, and maybe they can start a fire, burn a church down or something. Just make sure they can have some goat heads or something on stage.
I'm heading back to Viking Land tomorrow, gotta earn some money for the next event, and I also have a new Ultimate to fly. I'll post all about it in another thread.

So guys, thank you so much for letting me take part in this event, Elie, you really are THE MAN, and I'll try my best to be an even better Pit Beotch next time we meet. Thank you so much for letting me stay at your house. This would never have been possible for me, if it wasn't for you.

I'll see you guys next year, at Joe Nall, or the Snapahuck Fest, or hopefully both

So long.
Tusen hjertelig takk for at ej fikk komme hit til dokke her i USA.

Best regards.

The EF in my discription stands for Extreme Flight. You best not tell anyone you didn't know that.

I thought I read it was a fri - sunday event. Couldn't make it for saturday. So I drove 2 hours down with some friends to check it out sunday to find that everyone was packing up. Very disapointed. I did check the site before I left the house to make the trip and saw all the photos from saturday. After seeing the huge turnout I thought for sure it would be still going till after lunch on sunday at least. I am glad that the guy with the beautiful red bull edge decided to fly once more or else I wouldnt have seen any flying at all! Thanks bud serously. some nice flying too.
