A quick question, i have noticed air bubbles in the fuel to my 26cc. They are there when i suck the fuel through and when it is running. I having trouble starting it at times but when it isa running it seems fine. "I'm using a dubro in-line fuel filler and not a fuel dot, could this be the cause. And is it normal to see these air bubbles in the line????

No, it is not normal for air bubbles to be in the fuel line. Take cowling off and run the motor and trace the origin of the bubbles. You may even have too large a fuel line for your tank fittings. You want a fuel line that has a 1/4" OD and an 1/8" ID. You will have to readjust the motor once the bubbles are eliminated.

You could run the engine or fill the tank and then hook up the fuel filling pump to the carb end of the fuel line and draw the fuel with the filling pump while watching for bubbles. This may be safer than working around a meat-eating, bone-chewing prop.

I have seen several fuel fillers leak and allow air to be sucked into the line. Try bypassing it and see if the bubbles still appear. If that's not it, check all fittings where tubing meets the brass tubing. If you have an in line fuel filter, look there as well.

I have many Dubro and Great planes (same style) and although I have heard from some it is a problem waiting to happen I have had no issues yet and some of mine are over 10 years old. In fact I just recently installed some I have had for over 12 years still new? in package . And they worked fine (so far). All that said I trust these guys that have had problems and you may want to eliminate the filler just for a quick run up and see if that gets rid of the bubbles.

Fuel filler are most likely the problem.
I epoxy all my fuel line connections then wrap them in wire, then I know they are air tight. Flyer88 |

Inline fuel fillers make me shudder.
