Not surprising though, as just like the C-17 its meant to carry loads of weight, so when its empty it can really perform.

I sure wouldn't want to be the pilot flying it with a heavy load in twenty years time when it encounters some CAT.
thats when the tail or wings will come off as a result of this pretty cool looking effort.
