Once again pilots will make their way to Summersville WV for the premier RC event in the Mountin State. The flyers of Wallys Squadron will host their 18th annual event. The official dates are August 15th and 16th but many pilots will start arriving the weekend and week before for a big dose of giant scale fun. You can camp at the field or stay in one of the motels less than 10 minutes away. It's the best night flying around and everything is free.

2008 saw 100 registered pilots, hundreds more spectators, a restored P51 flyby, nightflying, fireworks, vendors and alot of smiling faces. Come on out!

We pass this field on the way to Joe-Nall every year. I never know they had a GS fly-in. A note to anyone attending this event, WATCH your speed through Summersville!! There speed enforcement is the largests and most strict I have ever seen!

You are absolutely right! Don't speed in Summersville!

But do hurry to the event.

We will be there on Monday also. I look forward to seeing everyone again.

This event, to me is right up there with the Nall. And alot closer to home.

after going to summersville, i stopped going to joe nall, the atmosphere at summersville is much more personal, you know everyone there instead if only seeing a couple of people you know, cant say enough to thank the crew of wallys squadron for the great event, sure you can fly giant scale, but bring what you have, i dont believe there are any restrictions on what you fly, but to be sure just check with buck hamrick, or check out here website, ''wallys squadron'' summersville wv, see you there

Me and my dad managed to fly between the rainstorms today. I didn't take many pics, but i'll have more as the week goes on. By the way if your not here your missing some fun flying and great people......................

Despite the weather forcasts, today turned out to be an awesome day! Just got back from the field, topped the day off with some great night flying with lightning looming in the background. It is only going to get better as the week goes on!
