I am moving back home to Collinsville, Il to go back to school to finish my degree. I was wondering where the local flying fields are and if anyone knows the costs to join and people to contact?
I'm willing to travel to St. Louis if it's not too far and a good field. I am moving from Champaign. I fly a 35% Yak so I am looking for places that are more receptive to the larger scale. Went to Roxanna a couple of times to watch an IMAC competition and the first one the airplanes were being shot at. The second time I went there, I needed waders for me and it looked like the planes needed floats. Thanks for any help Rich |

Check this file out, it has all the clubs in a 50 mile radius of Belleville.

Oh, Midwest Air Wing is a giant friendly club. East Side RC on the SIUE campus may be now too, but unless they have taken down some trees, it may feel 'tight' for a giant.

I live in Chesterfield and fly at Buder Park in Fenton MO MOst of the time. It's a very nice field with asphalt criss-crossing runways. About an hour from Collinsville. We have a mix of beginners and Giant scale. It's a st louis county park so it's free (AMA membership required).
I also keep a membership at east side RC. we fly on the SIUE campus. Field is small and not real friendly to large scale planes. There is a house on the north side of the field and they call the police if you get any where near them. It's 45 dollars per year and there's a student discount. |
