Default PAU 30% Extra 300SP

Hey Guys 'n' Gals,

The big brown truck dropped of my new Extra 300SP from "Performance Aircraft Unlimited" today.

The two boxes arrived here safe and sound (from the west coast all the way to the east!), so far I've unboxed everything to check it out. I snapped some quick pics with my cell phone, and rest assured I will be taking a lot more pics as I put it together. I'm planning on running a DA-50 with pitts muffler, 8411 servos on the ailerons and elevators, an 8611a or 5955 on the rudder, all powered from a 2400mah Li-Ion regulated to 6volts on a Spektrum AR7000 receiver.

This kit has everything, wheels, fuel tank, complete hardware including H9 titanium pushrods, you can check out more infor on the kit here:

I'd imagine they are the same as the Su-26. Nylon outside with light padding inside. Not the most durable bags but work for routine trips to the field. Plus they are free.

Looks good Chris. I've got a spare 5955 for your rudder... come on over and get it.

I don't have the wing bags yet, but I assume they are the same quality as the ones that come with the Sukhoi - which have kept my Sukhoi wings in great shape so far!

Thanks for the servo Jeff!

The wing bags are the same as the Sukhoi bags. They were delayed in production. They should ship to us in the next few days, and we will send them separately to all who already received their planes.

Hey Chris,

With the high level of prefabrication on these planes, I would imagine you are about done by now, no?

Awfully quiet on your part, you're probably out huckin' it already!!

You're right about the prefab, everythings just about done for you. Glue in the rudder, put it up on its landing gear, and drop in your electronics - and you're good to go!

I'm quiet because I'm building it! I'll post some more pics up later today.

Some more pics of what I've been up to. The first thing I did was fire up the iron and go over all the covering, and then open up all the slots and holes etc. I did get a little over zealous with the iron on the bottom of one of the stabs, and accidentally pulled some of the silver trim away, but luckily I had a roll of silver and I was able to patch it up good. I glued the rudder in using gorilla glue, using tape to hold the rudder in place and prevent the glue from pushing it back out. I made sure to put a little vaseline on the hinge points in case I accidentally got glue on them. I checked the fit of the wings and stabs, and then mounted the main gear and tail wheel. The main and tail gear are carbon fiber, and the main gear has a nice airfoil shape to it .

Check out the hardware that comes with the kit as well, A full set of gold anodized aluminum horns for the control surfaces, H9 titanium push rods, ball links, wheel axles, and pull pull kit, all from dubro. You also get a dubro 20 oz gas tank, and dubro wheels.

Even though I am using a pitts muffler I wanted to show the room you have to work with the cannister tunnel. I placed an MTW TD-75K in there to illustrate. The MTW is a fat cannister, and you can see there is plenty of room to work with.

Just before posting this I was plugging in all my servos to the receiver to center them so I can install the arms and then install them in the plane. So far, on the little that I've done, there has been no problems and I think this plane is going to go together very quickly!

CSpaced,
The Gear looks great. I am anxious to see how well the paint stays on the gear as they flex. This looks great, Hope you get some video to put up soon.
