I finished what I set out to accomplish for today.
Ran into two problems. One was there is a rib missing on the underside of the canopy. Looked every where for it but it wasn't anywhere. I taught I could just glue it back in. Cant find anything to glue back in. Will call PAU tomorrow. Need to ask about some graphics for this plane anyway. Problem #2 is that I crisscrossed the pull pull wires cause some one said that it was better that way. The wire is sawing the fuse in the back. Taught about moving the buckle out on the screw for a better angle. I used the theory of a 3in servo arm so I put the buckles 1.5" out from center. Any suggestions? Old Tom |

Yep. Wires can be crossed but the fuse needs the exit holes cut for that. I do believe that PAU used the straight method just like AW does. It works just fine, so uncross them.
Not sure there is supposed to be a former there or not. PAU will let you know ASAP though and if it is truly missing will get you hooked up.

I would uncross your pull/pull, they should be run straight in this plane. Space the buckles on the rudder so they are 3" apart on center to match the servo horn. Check out the stand offs my buddy whipped up for me

That is what I taught . I will uncross them.
I have them on 3" to match the servo arm. Lucky guess. The rib was glued in mine then removed. that is why I Questioned it. If it don't need it Then I wont worry about it. I have a friend like that to but he makes me make my own. Those are nice. |

How far down should I space the buckles on the elevator and the aileron?

They should be at least as far from the center of the control hinge as your servo arm is long. For example, if you are using a 1-1/4" servo arm for your elevators, you want the center of the buckles to be at least 1-1/4" from the center of the bevel.

The PAU graphics, along with he Extra 300-SP are ready.
We are waiting for the delayed Wing Bags, which are on their way from the factory, to ship it all to those who have already ordered the planes. |

Tom, other than the glue residue, I don't think that you're missing a rib at all. At any rate, I don't think it should change anything, and there should be enough rigidity that it's a non-issue. |
