For the gear cuffs I like to do this. Surround the top with black teflon tube cut in half. Then glue them on with your fav glue. Then wipe them with mystery oil to make them POP.
To keep them in place I drill 2 small holes in the cuff and the gear and use a 4/40 cap screw to hold them in place. That way they are easily removed and the cuff doesn't cut up the covering.

Tom,
When mounting the wheel pants, it greatly improves longevity to use the external support method shown in the attached pdf (4 pages). |

Herve,
I have done that on a number of sets of wheel pants and, like you say they are much stronger and last a lot longer. Jeff

I like the way that looks. I worry about the screw holes weakening the Gear. That seems to be a stress area. I allwas fly off of grass and sometimes rough grass. Pluss my landings suck one out of five times. What do you think of silicone inside the cuff instead of screws? |

That should work well too. I would recommend gluing the cuffs to the gear and not the fuse to allow for easier gear removal if needed.

I had planned on using a little goop to hold the cuffs in place on the gear. I'm also going to use some teflon tubing aorund the edge's just like Sweetpea described.

Didn't get much dun today.I mounted the fuel tank. Changed out the 20 oz. to a 24. I got some friends that we share planes with. I have enough after about 10 minutes, Then I give the radio to one of them. They do the same for me. We need a larger tank.
You guys already know that not one day goes by smoothly for me. Today was a major setback. The plane don't fit in my S-10. I went shopping for a new truck but changed my mind. They want to much money. Decided on a trailer. Right now it looks like Sunday for the maiden. Weather forecast up to 25 mph gusts for tomorrow. |

You will be happier with the trailer than a new truck

Good choice on the trailer! I have a 5x10 with a 6 foot height and can fit my 43% Edge on the bottom and two 50cc planes on the top shelf. Good luck with your Extra build!

I'm only 5' 5.5" without my shoes on. I can stand up in that trailer. Who makes it? |
