So what do you think about baffling bob? It's almost like there's no cowl as big as that front intake is :-)

That DA-200 is really a masterpiece of an engine. I'll have one for sure!

I weighted the rolls I have here, still unopened (with packing, inner cardboard tubing, labels and all that), and here's the outcome:

Monokote:
- Dark Red -> 189g (6.67 oz)
- Insignia Blue -> 178g (6.28 oz)
- Cub Yellow -> 185g (6.53 oz)

Oracover (Ultracote)
- Dark Blue -> 251g (8.85 oz)
- Cub Yellow -> 249g (8.78 oz)
- White -> 265g (9.34 oz)

- Transparent Red -> 177g (6. 24 oz)
- Transparent Red Oralight (Ultracote Lite) -> 150g (5.29 oz)

Differences between the rolls themselves:
Oracover rolls are 2 inches narrower, but 8 inches longer (there's 2m, 6.56 feet of covering per roll, whereas Monokote is 6 feet). That equates to about 59 sq. inches more area for a Oracover roll.

The cardboard "tube" that's used to roll the covering onto is 1.2 oz's heavier on the Oracover rolls.

Another thing to keep in mind is that the backing, the protective material that you have to peel off before applying the covering, is about 25% heavier in Oracover. Monokote uses a clear and transparent plastic. Oracover uses an opaque and glossy white paper (except on the transparent colors, which is a clear plastic much like Monokote).

So, all in all, I believe that Monokote is indeed lighter. My next GS build I'll be covering with Monokote and then I'll be able to have a more "accurate" comparison.

Bob,
What if the rear pipes were turned around? Would they need an extension then?/Or can that even be done w/ those mufflers? Just an idea.
Motor looks great inside that "bath tub". LOL

Looking very nice, Ive been following the build a while, but just registered on the site. Looking forward to seeing one in person,but not sure if I can get that fuse in the workshop. Ken and Matt are very excited about this plane and others in the future.Guess I better clear space to work on one. Scott

There is one hell of alot of room in this thing, I have a couple of ideas for the baffling, and I am going to tackle that issue very soon my friend.

I could turn both around, but I do not want the exaust stacks that close to the front of the cowling
