Cool, under your name it says test pilot, so you werent the test pilot? I think there may have been a couple rolls, if he can do some extended flying that would be cool.

Well infact in the start of the video the plane is doing a harrier spin. i guess you should re-read the thread and watch the video more closely.

Looking forward to those new videos Hangingbach. Even raw footage is nice just to see the plane put through its paces.

another bit of one of the raw videos, this flight was done in bad light and with a small handy cam so its not very nice but i guess why not. so here it is. just some harrier flying.

Hangingbach,
What is the all up weight of the plane as you have it set up and what kind of gear is in it? Sorry if I missed this in an early post. It would be nice to gauge what you have for a set up and weight of the plane with the visual performance of the aircraft. Thanks for the videos. Jeff

hangingbach, put me down for one!! I love the lines of this plane! Can't wait!
I haven't read the entire thread...Has the dry weight been disclosed? Is your prototype running a DA50? I want one bad! Then a 150cc version. Your gonna sell a ton of em'!!! |

I think it was posted as 16-16.5 lbs.
But again a video of pullout from hover will be excellent because it will show people how well the plane will be powered with a typical 50cc engine. If you guys are at high altitude though, let us know because that affect pullout and other 3D performances as well. |

I think Bonedoc and JohnVH are right on with their requests. Hangingbach, please don't think we're knocking the design or the flying. Just remember how many pplanes have hit the market described as "3d machines" or "capable of everything" just to fall short of expectations. Upright harriers may be boring but they've been the weak spot in the performance of many 3d designs. Your SBach seems to do them quite well.
I know I appreciate the testing and info you guys are providing. Keep up the good work! Bill |

The first video on page 8 does show some what a pull out from a hang. but i will get you a clearer one. But as for the engine performance we did most of the testing in summers the temperature really sores here going upto 120 degrees F and then the humidity goes high during the monsoon season. So engines loose a big chunk on power. One of the main reasons why we constantly try to design light airframes so we can get the performance from the derated engines. but still its not that bad. I cant wait for winters to come though.
