Default Aeroworks 260 vs. H9 260

So I'm interested in getting a 100cc airframe and I'd love to get an EF 100cc Extra 300, but it may be a while. So I thought about something to fly in it's place until it comes out and I've narrowed by decision down to two primary airframes, the H9 Extra 260 or the Aeroworks Extra 260. The Aeroworks would be a little bit heavier but would hold up better than the H9. What else should I consider with these two airframes?

Are there any other airframes I should consider (please no AW Extra 300)?

The EF 110" Yak is an awesome plane. Why are you so opposed AW Extra 300?

I'll vote for the H9...since that's what I have

Also, keep in mind the 2,005 squares of wing. Without smoke, mine came in at 26pounds 10 ounces, flies IMAC and 3D with little effort and has 93 flights on it.....with no signs of breakage anywhere. (I had some covering come loose is all) Parts are easy to come by and I think it has sharper lines than the Aeroworks.

I think both are great airframes though, and you'll be happy with either one. Pick the one that will make you the most proud when you take it to the field.

I just don't like the way the AW Extra 300 looks, just not my taste. I like the way the others look though. My biggest concern with the EF Yak though is getting it out of my front door. How tall is the rudder on it?

Man.. today is the day for "which one" threads.

This type of thread usually creates tension and reveals no info.
A much better way about this, is to hit the search button, and see that there are many informative threads on each airframe.
Read the threads, and make a judgement.

Any time you ask what is better Ford VS Chevy, your going to get very bias answers.

Sorry SleepyC! I looked for some info and found some but I'm still curious.

Here's another thing, I'd love to put the 3W 110 on it, so I want something that can handle the weight. I know cjcyclesrc EF Yak came out at almost 30 lbs. with a DA 100 on pipes so I'm thinking the EF Extra 300 could use a little extra omph and I'm not sure if a DA 100 on standard muffs would have enough power for my liking. And I'm not saying that trying to stir the pot even more SleepyC, I promise!

The 110" Yak is huge and handles the weight fine. It has 2170 sq/in on the wing and the fuse is so big the cubic loading is very low even at 30lbs. I think I would be fine with the power with mine on stock mufflers and a Mej. 27x10. I do like the pipes though.

Ok my friend Gabriel has a good opinion on both of these, since he has flown the Aeroworks a couple times and he owns a H9 260. He placed 5th this year at XFC I'll get him to chime in here...

I owned the Aeroworks 260 for 2 years and it was great. I have not flown a H9 yet.

Gabriel competed with his H-9 260 at the XFC and flew a Demo with the Aero works 260 (100cc) at the XFC also. So he is a great source of information regarding this subject.

His Nickname in here is MVPilot, PM him he will answer any question you have about these two models.

By the way, my personal choice I'll have to go with the H-9. But that is my personal opinion. Both fly great, but I like the looks of the H-9 better.

Regards,

Hector
