Go to Tower Hobbies and type in "engine test stand" into the search window. Most every test stand I ever saw was built basically like this. Mine is made of wood and is called the E-Z-JUST TEST STAND. You can find them on E-bay. There is one on there now for less than 10 bucks. You could build one a little beefier if you wanted based on the design of the one you bought.
Mine still has the original price tag on it for $3.95. Probably the best test stand ever built. Made of wood (rock maple) instead of metal because wood absorbs vibration better than metal. Metal just transmitts vibration. The only downside to this stand is that the wingnut on the left interferes with the muffler. Way back when, most engines didn't even have mufflers, just an exhaust port so the wingnut wasn't an issue. So to test engines without having to remove the muffler, I made a small modification. All I did was reverse the carriage bolt so that the head of it was on top and the wingnut was on the bottom. Because the head of the bolt originally slid back and forth in a channel routed into the bottom of the base to adjust for different engine sizes, when I reversed it, I had to add a spacer to slide in the channel so the wingnut could be fully tightened before threading itself into the channel. Works perfect.

I built one out of stuff I found in the garage. Are you gonna run glow or gas on it? I'll have to dig through my computer to find the pics.

I have built so many "one off" stands (for gassers) that is pretty much one per type of engine. You could bolt a gasser to a fence post (wood) with lag bolts.

Railmounts are more involved and better to get a pro built adjustable mount. Or build your own. I have an adjustable Dubro I believe and works very well for rail engines. It is aluminum and bolts to a plank of wood, bench etc.

And no I do not have any photos of the last one I built because like a dumba$$ I fell into this absurd belief (for a second or two) that an engine run in on a test stand (instead of on a plane) would somehow selfdestruct an engine and I built my last one to ummm allow for engine vibration to be "dissapated".

I was a fool. And since it is the only one I have around right now you will NEVER get a pic of it. In fact I think I'll open a Bud and have a Ceremonial Burning. 'Scuse me. I'll be back. Man how did I fall for that for even a millisecond ? I am so ashamed.

I wanna see! I wanna see! Anyways... this is what I built. I probably should have spent more effort designing/building it, but hasn't shattered yet (knock on wood).

Here's the plans if you're interested. LOL.

That scale drawing looks "official". Could damn near build it from just your pic without dimentions. LOL ***.
